For a fun twist on the classic donut, these delicious donuts are flavored with vanilla and tinted with teal food coloring. They are topped with an easy powdered sugar frosting that adds a sweet finishing touch. It's ideal for a special occasion or a fun weekend treat.
Instructions: Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit 190 degrees Celsius. Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a large mixing bowl. Whisk together the milk, vegetable oil, egg, and vanilla extract in a separate bowl. Mix the wet and dry ingredients together until they are just combined. Mix in a few drops of teal food coloring until the batter is uniformly colored. Fill each donut mould about 3/4 full with batter from a greased donut pan. Bake the donuts for 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the centre comes out clean. Remove from the oven and cool for 5 minutes in the pan before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Whisk together the powdered sugar and milk in a small mixing bowl until smooth. As needed, add more milk or powdered sugar to achieve a thick but pourable consistency. Dip each donut into the frosting, allowing excess to drip off, and place on a wire rack to set. Enjoy.
