***We Are All Women*** The prompt of #greatbearlake from @tealmoonpoetry #tealmoonstorm yelled at me to write something about the Inuit. There is so much pain and sorrow and as an English tutor, I work with a lot of children and teens smack in the middle of it. Yes, with the official reconciliation commissions, there is change toward being open about discussing what went wrong and why. (Here I speak of the residential schools). But we have a long road to walk of many generations before all the hurts are healed, if scarred. Having travelled a lot I have seen how others often think themselves better than certain groups, and coming from knowledge of what a whole culture did to so many others, I write and I hope for a future where it does not take the Lady of the Sea (Sedna, from Inuk stories) to kick us into dancing upon this earth together. As humans who each have a different colour of thread to contribute to our tapestry of the world. Recognizing that we are human, and there are horrid things that have happened and have been done and making sure that we listen. How do we move forward? And then, we act. Other words of Inuktiut I used are: Qallunaat- white person Angakkuq- Inuit shaman Qanik- falling snow Siku- ice ***Text and background by @a.r.reynolds*** #wordprompts #writersociety #writers_den_ #poetrylovers #instapoetry #wordswithqueens #writersnetwork #poetryisnotdead #thoughtsoftheday #reconcilitation #poetry #words #actions #listen #actwithlove #country #people #culture #mothernature #mythology #storytelling #poetsofig #writersofig #amwriting https://www.instagram.com/p/BnWhqnEBxcC/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=txhqqgg7zz63
