#teacher!levi

It was JJ’s second week at Sina Elementary and he was settling in nicely. Everyday he would come home and tell Y/n about the things he did and his friends and his teacher. But now, since Y/n started the job, JJ only saw her when he was about to go to bed. Y/n made sure that no matter what happens, she would always be home to tuck him into bed. JJ had a babysitter that would take care him until she got home. It was new but it was something that they had to get used to until Y/n settled in properly. Not that JJ minded. He knew how hard working his mom was and always knew that she did it for the both of them. So since Y/n was busy, JJ got picked up by one of her assistants everyday. Her name was Nanaba. One of Y/n’s most trusted friends. The bell had rung at school and JJ was on his way out when he saw Nanaba.

-NANABA!

She picks up her head from her cellphone and smiled.

-Hey JJ.

He runs up to her and hugs her.

-Is mommy busy again today?

JJ asks Nanaba. Her face softens.

-Yeah buddy. Sorry. But she will be home at the usual time.

Nanaba explains. JJ smiles and goes to the car. He was a literal angel. Everyone at Y/n’s work loved him. He had that aura about him. A friendly one. One that just makes you happy and safe.

Later that day, while JJ does his homework at the table he sees his moms car pull up.

-MOM!!

JJ wakes up and runs to the door. He opens it and sees his mom walk up the stairs.

-Hi baby.

Y/n says and hugs him.

-You’re early today!

-Yeah. I got a way to sneak out of work just for you.

She boops his nose. She looks around the house and sees the babysitter getting ready to leave. Y/n thanks her and pays her fee. The rest of the day, Y/n spent with JJ. She helped with his homework and watched movies. They ended up falling asleep on the couch. Y/n jerks awake and sees her son,asleep, on her chest. She smiles at the picture. Y/n turns off the tv and takes JJ to his room.

-M..mom?

-Yes baby?

-I have a parent-teacher meeting on Friday. I forgot to tell you.

She chuckles.

-Yes baby. I know. I saw your message book. Don’t worry. I’ll be there. Now go back to sleep. Sweet dreams.

-I love you mommy.

-and I love you.

~Friday~

JJ’s parents meeting was today. The time of the meeting is 16:30-18:00. Since they were a lot of kids in the class, Levi wanted to tend to each one of them. Y/n wasn’t there yet though. Her boss wanted her to stay for a couple of minutes more but she promised JJ she would be there, and that’s a promise she wasn’t going to break. Currently, JJ was with Nanaba waiting for his mom to show. A lot of people were looking at him and Nanaba. He could hear all of them. Whispering to each other about how his mom wasn’t a good one and almost never being there to pick him up or now, showing up to his first meeting. But he ignored it. Until someone came up to the pair.

-Hello.

The person says. She’s short. With brownish orange hair.

-I’m Petra. My son is Henry. Is this your son?

Nanaba looks up from her phone. She squints her eyes and shakes her head.

-No. He is my boss’s son.

Nanaba replies cooley. She also heard the whispers. Petra being one of them. From Nanaba’s observations, Petra was one of those overly rich snobs who looked down on others and judged heavily on appearance. Also, Petra knew damn well whose son JJ was.

-B-Boss? But isn’t he..

-JJ!!!

They all turn to the voice. JJ smiles and runs towards the person.

-MOM! You made it!

He runs into her arms.

-Of course, JJ. I promised you.

She wakes up and walks to Nanaba with JJ in her arms. She’s not dressed in her sweats and t-shirt. No. Since Y/n came from work, she’s dressed in her black Armani pant suit and her black, red bottom heels. Eyes followed her.

-Hey Nanaba. Thanks for bringing him here.

-No problem, boss. Oh and I just got news from Erwin. He said he would like to meet you next Tuesday to settle. Should I confirm?

Y/n sets JJ down and ruffles his hair.

-Yeah. Set it for 11. So by the time we finish, I’ll be able to pick JJ up from school.

-Alright. I should go.

Nanaba says. She bids her farewell and leaves. Many of the parents are looking at JJ and his hot mom. Mostly thinking that this cannot be the same woman who showed up on first day.

-So JJ. Anything I should be worried about that Mr Ackerman is gonna tell me?

She teases.

-What!? No! I’ve been really good. I did all my work and passed all the spot tests he gave.

-JJ!

A young girl hops out the classroom and runs up to him. Y/n watches her. She has jet black hair with brown eyes. She looks..familiar.

-Lily! Hi!

-Oh this must be your mom. Hello. I’m Lily Ackerman.

(Ah)

-hi Lily. Nice to meet you.

Y/n kneels down.

-You know..JJ has told me all about you.

Lily shys away.

-Really?

-Yeah. He always talks about the nice girl who plays with him during the breaks and helps him out. You’re very sweet, Lily. Thank you for being his friend.

Lily looks at JJ. He smiles at her. Not ashamed at all. She smiles at him.

-Of course, Mrs L/n. My dad says to always be nice to newcomers.

-LILY!

She hears her name and turns around.

-DADDY!

-Ugh what have I told you? Don’t run off like that. I thought you went to go drink some water. What are you doing?

Levi asks his daughter as she runs up to him.

-Daddy! I met JJ’s mom. She’s so pretty. Look.

She points at Y/n. Levi’s eyes widen by a fraction. She looks...alive. Better than when he first met her.

-Oh. Y/n. Hello.

-Hi,Mr Ackerman.

She tells him. He nods at JJ and tells them that it was time for the meeting.

-Daddy can I stay with JJ?

-Mommy can I stay with Lily?

The kids ask their parents. They share a look to each other. Levi was about to speak but Y/n beat him to it.

-If it’s alright with Mr Ackerman, sure.

She looks at him and he nods.

-Just don’t go running off. Stay outside the class.

He puts his daughter down and and she runs to JJ. They run along and Y/n makes her way to Levi. She’s way taller than him now. But it’s just the shoes. It was 6 inch stilettos.

-hi.

She tells him. He merely nods at her.

-So your daughter is in this school?

She asks Levi. He looks at her. He never cared for small talk but he answered either way.

-Yeah. I don’t teach her though.

-Oh alright. Makes sense. Favorites.

Y/n smiles at him.

They make their way into the class and Levi tells Y/n to sit in the seat her son sits. She obliged and sits in JJ’s seat by the window. And so the meeting commenced.

Levi spoke about the upcoming excursion they kids will have to the Overlook Aquarium. He also spoke about the kid’s performances in school. Y/n stares at him. He caught her eye a couple of times but he didn’t concern himself with it. There was something about this woman that he wanted to know more about. He wanted to. But that shining ring on her finger told him that he shouldn’t. If he is being honest, he never heard of Mr Y/n. He didn’t even see his name on the parents sheet. Only hers. That makes him wonder. Did she just use a ring to show she wasn’t interested in dating or did the man not want to be on the the record? But she did go by Mrs. But eh, it wasn’t his business.

Time flew by and Levi spoke to every parent except for Y/n. She didn’t mind. She looked around the class and saw the pictures the kids drew. She say JJ’s. Her eyes widen. It was Y/n and...Mikoto. JJ labeled it as “Beauty and The Beast”. She smiles at that. Mikoto would’ve loved to see this. Y/n missed him. More than she intended to. Hange even told her that it was time to date and “get out there”. But she always turned that idea down. How would JJ reacted? Ugh. He would despise her. He would probably thing Y/n was trying to replace Mikoto. She thinks that JJ would never speak to her again if another man came into the picture.

-Mrs L/n.

She turns to Levi. She smiles. Levi hands her some applications and tells her about JJ’s performance in school.

-He is very talented. In Drawing especially. He has a good eye. I suggest speaking to him about art lessons if he is interested.

She chuckles at that.

-Yeah I will. It’s funny. He is just like his dad. He loved to draw. He got that skill from him.

Y/n tells Levi. He picked up on that. “Loved”. He tries his luck.

-Oh well, his dad should come and see JJ’s art. We keep most of them here so it will be nice.

She looks at Levi, a bit sad.

-I wish he could. Mikoto is..well.. he passed away two years back. Car accident.

Levi’s eyes widen. Oh. So that’s why she never put his name down.

-Oh. I’m sorry. My condolences.

Levi says softly. She thanks him. They look at each other but Y/n breaks the contact.

-Well. Uh. We’re done here, I suppose.

-Oh. That was quick. Thank you, Mr Ackerman.

-Call me Levi.

She nods her head and leaves with Levi outside the class after locking up the class. They look around for their kids only to find them sitting on the bench, fast asleep. Lily has her head on JJ’s shoulder. Y/n smiles at the scene. Levi shakes his head and smirks. He kneels down to the sleeping angels.

-Hey. Hey beautiful. Come on. Wake up.

He gently takes Lily from the bench and holds her.

-JJ. Come on, my love.

Y/n shakes JJ. He mumbles something incoherently and grabs his mom’s jacket. She smiles and lifts him up. Levi looks at Y/n and mouths “you good?” She nods and starts walking to their cars. Y/n straps JJ in the backseat while she puts her jacket on him forming a blanket.

Levi puts Lily in the back of his car and puts his jacket on her as well. He turns and looks at Y/n as she makes her way to the drivers side. She catches him looking and smiles and waves at him. He waves back.

Levi makes his way home and opens the door with a sleeping Lily in his arms. He quietly moves upstairs and opens her room door to place her there in her bed. He carefully takes off her shoes and takes baby wipes and wipes her small feet and hands. He tucks her in and kisses her goodnight. He turns on her nightlight and closes her door. Levi goes to his room and enters his bathroom. He takes a quick shower and puts on his trousers. It was Friday, so him and Lily could wake up later than normal. Not he would, but it was nice waking up without an alarm to wake his sleeping beauty. Levi was left alone with Lily after she turned 2. Her mother took off one night, saying she couldn’t take care of Lily with Levi. Levi on the other hand tried talking to her, telling her that if they worked together they could do this. God how he fought to keep them together. But later on, he found out that she was cheating on him with one of her coworkers. He felt like he dodged a bullet because he was planning on proposing on his birthday. So, it was just him and her. He tried dating, but the girls he met weren’t always the best type of people. They either wanted one night stands or turned him down because he was too blunt or something. But majority were turned off with the idea that he had a daughter. Fucking idiots.

Levi goes to his bed to be met with the precious image of his daughter. She almost always did this. Levi would tuck her in, kiss her goodnight, leave her room to go do something and when he comes to his room she would be there snuggled in his bed. He smiles and walks to his bed after switching off his lights. He goes under the blanket and moves Lily on top of his chest. She was small built so she fitted perfectly on him. She always told him that he was her own heater because he was always warm.

He kisses the top of head and falls asleep.

Well it looks like we’ll be getting a zero this time. Eren thought to himself.

The bell rang signaling the end of 1st period, the worst class of the day. Eren caught Jean leaving the classroom, not giving him a second glance or even stopping to ask him what they were planning on doing. Another sigh escaped Eren’s lips as he got up from his chair, but before he could walk out the door, his teacher stopped him short.

“Eren,” he heard Mr. R say.

Ugh, grunted Eren in his mind. He turned around, forcing a smile to his least favorite teacher, whom in return remained with the same bored expression he always wore.

“Yes?”

“I expect you’ve been working on your project with Mr. Kirstein.” Eren could swear he saw a small smirk appear on his teacher’s lips. But as soon as it came it disappeared.

“Yes. It’s going great!” Eren lied through his teeth, trying hard not to let any swears slip though, which would result in immediate detention, and Eren had no desire to spend any more time with his history teacher. He looked up to Mr. R’s eyes, which looked a bit skeptical about his response, but if he found any dishonesty in Eren’s words, he hid it well.

“I expect a 100 from the both of you.” Eren tried to smile or reply with something witty, but his mind raced back to the days when he used to care about his grades. When he worked hard on every homework and project just to see the smile spread across his mother’s face. But those days were long gone and he no longer tried to make his mother smile. She wasn’t around to praise his dedication anymore.

“Eren?” His train of thoughts were interrupted by his teacher, whom all of a sudden showed interest in what was bothering him. Eren thought back to what Mr. R last said, and quickly replied, “I doubt it,” before exiting the classroom faster than he had ever done before. He didn’t wait for his teacher to reply. He would’ve probably said something like “Eren, what has happened to you?” or “Eren, you used to be my best student.”

Bullshit.

Eren tried to push away thoughts of his mother and of Mr. R’s look of concern. Why was he even thinking about his worst teacher anyways? He had always been hard on Eren and picked on him every chance he got. Eren wasn’t aware why he did it. He even tried his best to avoid getting into trouble with Mr. R, which wasn’t an easy task. But no matter how much he tried, his name was always at the tip of his teacher’s tongue when he needed someone to answer a question.

Once again, Eren couldn’t stop himself from thinking about the past. He couldn’t stop himself from thinking back to the second week of school, when he first entered the hallways of his new school by Mikasa’s side. It was the first time in his life he had moved to a new city. His father had gotten a job offer, and after little discussion, they all packed their bags and moved into a new—and bigger—house. But although Eren was able to settle in a week after school had started, things quickly took a tragic turn.

The first time he saw Mr. R, Eren was met with the same bored and expressionless eyes that his teacher had come to master. On his first day of school, Eren entered his classroom, hoping to find a nice and loving teacher who would make his 1st period class easy to get by. He stood by the door, and when harsh grey eyes looked his direction, Eren couldn’t help but stutter his words.

“Um, hi. I’m the new student.”

“New student? You must be Eren then.” His voice was just like he expected, deep and emotionless, just like his face expression.

“Yes, that’s me.” Eren smiled at his new teacher, whose name he did not know. On his schedule it only said Mr. R, but whose last name was only the letter R anyways?

Mr. R didn’t reciprocate his smile, which was expected. Instead he said, “Go sit,” while pointing to the last desk on the last row, which Eren noticed was the farthest away from his teacher’s desk.

Settled in his seat, Eren couldn’t help to sneak a look at this teacher. Although he hadn’t even gotten up the whole time Eren spoke with him, he could tell he was a short man. He also looked young, and he was rather handsome. His straight black hair was styled in an undercut and like noted before, he had piercing gray eyes. His desk was the cleanest and organized desk he had seen any of his teachers have. Mr. R noticed Eren looking his direction, which made Eren quickly look down to his desk, which appeared new, but the short leg that made it wobble every time he moved told him otherwise. Eren looked up again to see if his teacher was still looking at him, but he wasn’t. Eren wondered why his cheeks had started burning when their eyes met. Well may be he did know. His teacher was attractive and mysterious, and Eren loved mysteries. So Eren may or may not be crushing on his history teacher.

Mr. R dropped a bunch of papers on Eren’s desk, making Eren jump at the gesture. The teacher shot him a look that Eren could decipher as what the hell is wrong with you?The teacher leaned into a Eren a bit to talk about the papers on his desk. Eren couldn’t help but smell his cologne, a smell he couldn’t explain .

“You have to get this signed by your parents,” Eren was once again disrupted from his thoughts, but this time he was able to stay still.

“Oka-.”

“And, this is what we’re working on at the moment. I’ll be handing you your textbook later this week.” His teacher didn’t even wait for him to reply before making his way towards his desk. Eren’s eyes followed his trail, noticing that his teacher was indeed short and he also had a great figure.

Mr. R shot Eren another look, showing he noticed him staring. Once again, Eren’s cheeks burned and he looked down to the papers in his hands.

The rest of the period went by with Mr. R’s voice filling the room, and Eren listening to every up and down his voice made. He watched him carefully, noticing every move and gesture he made. He was captivated by the way he sarcastically responded to the students when they answered a question wrong, especially when it came to the guy named Jean, who Eren assumed was a know-it-all. Mr. R looked his way a couple of times, but paid him no mind when his hands shot up in the air, trying to impress his teacher with his intelligence. Well not really intelligence, Eren had never been the intelligent type, he was just lucky, and dedicated as his mother would say.

When class ended and Eren was on his way out, the teacher called his name.

“Yes?” he quickly responded, surprised by the attention Mr. R was giving him after a whole period of ignoring his raised hand.

“Stop staring at me.” Mr. R looked away from Eren and down to the papers in his hands. Eren walked out the door without responding. His words had been harsh, but that didn’t stop him from admiring him every chance he got.

Eren’s crush on Mr. R didn’t last long. After 2 weeks of watching his every move and constantly being told to stop, Eren received the harsh news.

His mother had been in a car accident. The impact was so strong that she died instantaneously. He received the discordant news with shock. He later learned that she had been on her way to buy him and Mikasa new clothes, which he had repetitively begged her to, even though Mikasa told her it wasn’t necessary. Knowing that only made him feel worse.

Eren stopped going to school. He didn’t have the ability or strength to get up and go to a place that will only make him feel worse. Mikasa tried to make him go to school, but her tries were worthless. She had been the only strong one of the three of them, the only one who tried to make sense of things. She tried her best to get Eren to understand that what happened wasn’t his fault, but just like she failed to make Eren go to school, she failed to make him understand. His father became more distant as well, working day and night, barely making it home for dinner. Eren was tired. Eren didn’t want to get out of his bed to find the spot where his mom used to sit empty. Or to hear silence from the kitchen where there used to be clanking sounds, which reminded him dinner was on its way. He wanted to stay home forever and never leave his bed. Never going outside or talking to anyone seemed like the best idea in the world, and Eren had no trouble following through with it.

Two whole weeks had passed, and Eren was starting to get used to becoming an outsider. But his resting time didn’t last long. On the Friday completing two weeks after his mom’s death, someone kept calling his house. He would’ve normally dismissed the phone, letting Mikasa pick it up like she normally did. But this time it just kept ringing, and no one went to pick it up. After realizing that the person was going to keep calling, Eren got up and picked up the phone.

“Hello?” Eren’s voice was raspy, as if he had been crying for the whole week straight, which he hadn’t, no matter how much he tried, the tears never came, and that just made him feel more miserable.

“Eren?” the voice at the end of the line sounded familiar, but being away from civilization for so long resulted in not knowing who he was speaking to.

“Who is this?” Eren finally asked.

“Eren, this is Le- Mr. R, your history teacher; in case you have forgotten.” Eren didn’t need reassurance to know that is was Mr. R, his sarcasm gave him away.

“How did you get my number?” was the next thing Eren managed to say, his voice broke a bit, and he figured it was due to the lack of communication he had had the past couple of days.

“What are you, stupid? The school has your number. I’m a teacher at your school. Remember school? I doubt it since you haven’t showed up in two weeks.” There was a slight pause, and Eren couldn’t say anything. “My first guess was that you were sick, but I asked around, they said you weren’t sick. Then I saw your sister, and I asked her what was wrong with you. She told me what happened.” Again there was another pause, as if what Mr. R was planning on saying next was something he really didn’t want to say. “I’m really sorry Eren, but just because life’s a bitch, it doesn’t mean you get to throw away your education.” Another pause, but this time Eren knew his teacher didn't plan on continuing.

Eren didn’t know what to say to break the silence. He was surprised to find his teacher had cared about him. He had cared enough to ask about him and even look his number up and call him. Not only that, he had kept calling even after Eren wouldn’t pick up the phone. For some strange reason that made Eren feel a bit better, but not enough to make him want to go back to school just to see Mr. R’s face again. But Eren still thought back to the first two weeks he spent in his class. His teacher barely paid any attention to him, or even looked his way. Maybe he did a couple of times, but mostly because Eren wouldn’t stop staring at him, especially when they were taking a test and Mr. R sat at his desk, inspecting the room to see if anyone was cheating. When he caught Eren’s eyes, he made an annoyed face and avoided looking his way for the rest of the period.

“Well,” his teacher said after the long silence, “I expect to see you in class next Monday. I f you don’t show up I swear Eren I’ll go to your house and drag you out myself.”
