The Lake Within Soft midday breeze cools my ski as I sit solitude under the rugged and robust tea trees. I feel my mind is much at ease listening to the distant bird calls and the nearby insects calling within the tangled branches and lush leaves. The lake's water is somewhat dark and still below; the breeze caressing the surface creating tranquil ripples. I somehow relate with comfort but knowing what lies beneath should never be stirred. Exfoliating trunks and branches like dead skin peeling from a child's sunburnt shoulders. Decaying organic matter lies on these shores. Spiders skim across the tops of them with much speed and skills of survival. I finally look into the distance once more but see; I see a lush green patch of what looks like water lilies peacefully rested on the waters edge. 'Must be sheltered from the breeze' I think to myself. But it's the stunning and striking yellow flowers raised with confidence and beauty that catches my eye and strikes my soul Lake Ainsworth 14/11/15

Some tea professionals, I heard, claimed that there was no such thing as Single Grove tea trees, nor that one has to climb the trees to harvest, or get on a ladder, or that there were these 600 year old trees. Whatever. Today, the tea pickers were all in a good mood, because Mr. Wei's 65 year old mom was personally climbing the 600 year old tree to do the harvesting.

Spent the entire weekend planting, still partially as a contingency to gain our certificate of occupancy. It was a ton of work, but the house is starting to get more personality... Can’t wait to fill in the front with more plantings.
