Hi! First of all, I wanted to tell you that I love your art <3 I wonder what program you use and how long it took you to learn drawing so awesome. Do you have any advices?
I suppose I’ve been drawing since I was about 3-4ish, the pictures weren’t that great at that time obviously. But I did so undeterred. I spent all day scribbling different images on paper, trying to make it look like what I’d seen online and in cartoons on tv. I spent years doing this, duplicating other people’s designs and art.
As for how long it took me to get to where I am, thats a bit harder for me to answer. There is no easy magic that I can sprinkle on you, or anyone else, to make them into a artist. It is a craft like anything else and takes years of dedicated work to get to a point that you feel somewhat proficient and stable on your ground as an artist.
Its hard to summarize how long someone has been an artist, while some people pick it up later in life I never really picked up a pencil and declared myself an artist. I just always felt I was one, and that has been the most consistent thing for me in my life.
As for advice, I will never proclaim to have all the answers, but I certainly can tell you what I’ve learned over time.
I have to stress this one because it has been a huge influencing factor for me. Having people share your art with, and get trustworthy opinions and review from is irreplaceable.
Especially if you ask them for the help! People will notice things differently and with a fresher eye then you will, don’t take it personally if they try and bring something to your attention.
getting comfortable in one thing can make you a one trick pony and limited in your skill.
You’re art may be in the rougher patches for its development but who cares! You made it, out of literally nothing you created it. THAT is extraordinary and deserves your pride. Don’t worry about what others might think, if they dislike your art or not. People will always be trying to change you, you don’t have to conform to what they want,  just be yourself and love doing it!
There will always be someone better than you out there, use them as a goal instead of a intimidation. Aspire to illustrate like them, but don’t obsess about them either. Value your art!! If you don’t, NO ONE WILL.Â
What works for one artist might not work for you, expand your skill set and always keep experimenting!
Post it on a website like deviantart or tumblr, while recognition doesn’t come immediately if you network yourself people will take notice!
Travel as much as you can, even if it scares you! Every life experience can work its way into your art, no matter how big or how small.
No artist became one overnight, everyone worked to get where they are. Sure it seems hopeless sometimes, “I can’t draw.” “i’ll never be like that.” “I’ll never improve.” You’ll improve as much as you let yourself! You have to have a drive to improve, and everyone has their own pace with it. Some are faster, and some are slower. What fuels the most improvement is passion.
Sketch everything, it doesn’t always have to be perfect, it doesn’t even need to look like what you were trying to draw. The fact you tried it once, means you’ll do it better the next time.
Because that is the key to all super powers, obviously.Â
Hope this helps Anon~
