MY K-POP WIRE at live: EXO's EXhOrizon: The Kings of K-Pop Reclaim Their "CROWN" in Malaysia
After seven long years, EXO finally returned to Malaysia with their sixth world tour, EXO PLANET #6 – EXhOrizon in Kuala Lumpur, proving that time has done little to diminish the group's star power. Featuring Suho, Chanyeol, D.O., Kai, and Sehun, the concert marked a long-awaited reunion between EXO and Malaysian EXO-Ls, who filled the venue in shimmering gold and turned the night into a celebration years in the making.
The show opened with the group's debut track "MAMA", accompanied by stunning Tree of Life visuals that paid tribute to EXO's beginnings. From there, the energy surged with fan-favourites including "Monster", "Wolf", and "Overdose", as the members delivered the powerful vocals, commanding stage presence, and razor-sharp choreography that have defined their career for more than a decade.
Despite the explosive opening, it was the members' genuine interactions that quickly stole hearts. Greeting fans with "Apa khabar?" and "Saya rindu kamu," EXO immediately embraced the local crowd. Suho expressed his gratitude for fans who had patiently waited for their return, while Kai joked about how exhausting the opening set had been. One of the night's funniest moments came when Sehun casually commented on how windy the venue felt, only to realise he was standing directly in front of a giant fan. The resulting laughter from both members and fans set the tone for the warm and playful atmosphere that continued throughout the evening.
Musically, EXO showcased the remarkable versatility that has cemented their status as one of K-pop's most influential groups. Songs such as "Moonlight Shadows", "Gravity", and "Crazy" highlighted their ability to balance powerful performances with strong live vocals, while Kai's captivating solo stage for "Jekyll" added a dramatic theatrical element to the concert.
The group's playful chemistry was on full display during various ment segments. What began as a simple lightstick wave challenge quickly evolved into a hilarious aegyo debate, with each member attempting to nominate someone else before eventually participating themselves. The lighthearted interactions provided a refreshing contrast to the concert's larger-scale performances and reminded fans why EXO's group dynamic remains one of their greatest strengths.
The atmosphere shifted once again as EXO entered one of the evening's most memorable sequences. Dressed in sleek suits and signature glasses, the members turned up the charm with "Playboy", "Artificial Love", "The Eve", and "Love Shot". The crowd responded with deafening screams as EXO effortlessly showcased the charisma and confidence that have become synonymous with their performances.
As the night progressed, the concert transformed into a giant celebration. Hits including "Power", "Don't Fight The Feeling", "Tempo", "Ko Ko Bop", "Call Me Baby", "Love Me Right", and "Growl" turned the arena into a massive sing-along, with fans matching the group's energy at every turn. The members frequently commented on the crowd's enthusiasm, visibly feeding off the passion and excitement radiating throughout the venue.
Fans were also given opportunities to become part of the show. EXO challenged the audience to sing along to beloved tracks such as "Peter Pan", "The First Snow", "Angel", and "3.6.5", while selected fans participated in dance challenges featuring "Growl" and "Crown". As a special reward, Kai and Suho personally performed for participants, creating unforgettable memories for those lucky enough to join them.
The emotional heart of the concert arrived through ballads such as "Baby Don't Cry", "Walk on Memories", and "Don't Go". D.O. and Suho's stunning duet performance showcased the vocal excellence that remains one of EXO's defining strengths, while the nostalgic setlist served as a reminder of the group's remarkable journey alongside EXO-L.
As the concert neared its conclusion, the members reflected on their long-awaited return and expressed their gratitude to fans who had waited years to see them again. Even during the final speeches, laughter was never far away, particularly when Chanyeol accidentally said "Terima Kash" instead of "Terima Kasih", prompting immediate teasing from both the members and the crowd.
Closing with "Flatline" and "Angel", EXO delivered an emotional finale dedicated to their fans before gathering together for one final declaration: "We are ONE."
More than a concert, EXhOrizon was a celebration of resilience, loyalty, and a bond that has remained unshaken despite the passage of time. Seven years may have passed since EXO last stood on a Malaysian stage, but throughout the night, one thing became abundantly clear: the Kings of K-pop have never truly left their throne.

i wanna admit something…
i only got into exo like mid last year (i got into kpop in 2022) when i saw a tiktok of baekhyun doing history on weverse live and found out it was the same guy who’s photocard accidentally ended up in a 2025 skz seasons greetings and he replied to them on twt (tweet is under the cut)
AND that he was in the group that had the song from the jjk obsession edits.
then i discovered mama and history and the rest was….
the things that made me an exo-l was the fucking wolf demo and artificial love fancams 😝😝 and the fact that they were the group that debuted between shinee and nct (some of my other ults)
i lowkey made a vow to not get into another sm group and look what happened… i redownloaded tumblr. i do wanna say i think i their enlistments making them not as active when i was first getting into kpop is why i kept just barely missing them
FUNFACT: my first exo song was electric kiss somehow (IN 2022!!!)
