Hi, I’m talking about a mashup album I found exists again! This time, it’s Technetium: Vol. 1 by TCMusic, a mashup album putting songs together to make some cool EDM. This is 8 songs in an album that’s about slightly over half an hour long in total, and there’s a good bit of variety in here. This is mostly just an audio experience aside from the YouTube video that just has the songs in it, and while the songs included can be a bit memey in nature, these also are just really good songs in general! To cap off my coverage of what was an ultimately loaded few weeks in terms of mashup projects, Technetium Vol. 3! I have covered Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 previously, and man, they are such good mashup projects. On that note, the third installment in the Technetium series exceeds both of them. With two more tracks and additional featured mashers, there is even more content than the last sequel. As always, with the base of a DJ club setup, the electronic instrumentals perfectly balance out the samples from various genres. It retains the effortlessly cool aura this series puts out, which of course signals how much effort was put into this. For now, it seems Technetium will end as a trilogy, with perhaps my favorite mashup album I have heard being a fantastic conclusion to probably my favorite mashup series I have heard. I will happily and patiently wait for whatever TCMusic does next!

Man, I know I just posted about a mashup album a few days ago, but I NEED to talk about another one. Technetium Vol. 2, the sequel to Technetium Vol. 1 that I also talked about in a previous post, is quite simply possibly one of the best mashup albums I have ever listened to. Like it’s predecessor, it is an electronic music album on YouTube that is mostly an audio-only experience which goes over some different genres of electronic music, doing so quite well with great transitions to make you feel like it’s a DJ set. (It sounding like Geometry Dash, Black Ops 2, and Forza Horizon as joked about on Acai’s stream where he played this if you want a description of the vibes.) However, unlike last time, TCMusic blessed us by increasing the amount of songs from 8 to 10! I have to say, I came in to this album with high expectations. I didn’t know what I was getting into last time and was thoroughly impressed. Now, with the bar set on the high jump, the sequel went up and above to be just that damn good. The song choices were a bit bolder, there were more experimental techniques in there that were well executed, and you could tell it was super high production like last time. One of the few things I’m eh about on Technetium Vol. 1 is that it feels like it takes a bit to really get going, but in this instalment, I feel more interested right off the rip. Sure, the average song length is down, but I feel that I prefer having more songs and ideas that vary this time. I prefer electronic songs with at least some vocals present at the front, but even in songs without those, these songs were treasure troves for samples that I loved to dig through. (In fact, in these songs, you could argue TCMusic made it a point to include more samples to keep listeners captivated.) This mashup album, regardless of whether or not you listened to the first one, is a very rewarding experience I heavily recommend listening to and checking out to support TCMusic.
