I was able to attend a convention as an exhibitor this year! The 11th annual Tucson Comic-Con was my 3rd time as an artist in artist alley. I went the year before as an attendee, but I was also an exhibitor in 2016 & 2014. It’s always a great show and I see many familiar faces as it’s a smaller convention. Here’s some photos of my table this year, if you want more, I saved the stories on instagram as a highlight – TCC18!
Dave was a big hit this year. Not only was he an official part of the con’s first Epic Scavenger Hunt, but he was greeted every morning (by name!) by the staff as we walked in. As a maker, it’s the greatest thing to hear your creations known by their name. He even had his own hashtag #psydave. He drew plenty of attention and got many photos with so many new friends. I also made an exclusive item this year, Berrie the Barrel Cactus. Thanks goes to my twitch chat for helping me name her! She was very popular and sold out halfway through the 2nd day. I’ll be coming back with another exclusive next time, there’s so many possibilities with this pattern I used from Secretly Gnoming.
I’ve got my eye on Phoenix Fan Fusion next – I’ve been on the wait list 3 years so there’s a chance I may get a spot in 2019. If not, I’ll likely be going back to Tucson for two years in a row!
