the yggdrasilian’s physiology is kinda taking sigyn’s cool face paint and turning them into markings, and some inspiration from @wreegis ‘s designs too!

and i just think darkened /inkstained limbs and twotoned hair are really cool. pretend theres an actual in universe reason. smthn abt the sun idk

also bc a lot of the background characters are named after dogs/wolves in mythology and i wanted a way for them to Be dogy.

i think they can range from just the fingers /toes/hair tips (sigyn) to halfway up the hair and limbs (loki). same with the face markings- from a few lines to like. eye masks. and tails are fun, can go from horse-like (odin/sigyn) to catlike (loki/thor)

also these four all have one eye covered to tie thematically to Odin. i think thats silly.

odin’s design is very on the historical side of historical scifi. i looked at actual norse clothing for her. i chose gold/yellow for her color, and the white gets all rainbow funky and oilslick when the eldritch shit happens!

loki’s outfit is meant to be cumbersome and impractical- weird sleeve things, long pants, heavy belts and necklaces. odin wants to keep up appearances so she wouldn’t restrain loki with chains - but her outfit is meant to be hard to run very far in. the gold on her is the exact shade of odin’s further tying them together and cementing her As property of odin at that moment . also shes got mouth scars from the execution when it was stitched! yeeowch

for thor- i adore the design that make him gruff and practical but in my head he’s like a washed up tech bro nepo baby, which also distinguishes him from MCU thor. hair a bit too long, wearing fancy clothes but not stylishly… his hammer (with a short handle ofc!) is a longer one that was snapped in half and even the mechanical supplies on the train are a horribly garish gold.
