just curious but assuming you like blue sargent, may i ask why? i don't like her at all, and how her definition of "feminism" is only when it concerns her and is not actually feminism (and fitting the "i'm not like other girls" trope and even being judgemental towards other girls like orla) and she's pretty marysue-ish :/
I’m not going to lie, you make good points, her feminism is definitely lacking, and the way she interacts with orla is super not cool, and she does give off the “I’m not like other girls” vibe. My only argument would be that she’s not a marysue imho. I think her family and the circumstances of the book and her life sorta… not prevent it but move her away from that particular trope. There are definitely flaws in Blue’s character and I’m not going to deny that, but I enjoy her character regardless (however, given that I haven’t reread the books in a while, I may become more disenfranchised with her character, as I’ve learned more about feminism in the time since) and I do think she’s a valuable asset to the gangsey
