Also, “thousands” is undercounting it. Other sources suggest there were actual millions of protesters around the nation (the Alt National Parks Service account on Bluesky and Facebook says it was a mighty 5.2 million. That is the population of New Zealand. That is a whole Aotearoa-worth of people. That’s tremendous).
