On a trip to Tasmania with @piinemarten, @landshaarrk and @benjipod in 2024, We visited Mawson Sheepskin & Opals in Hobart. Up the back of the store, we spotted this thyla very high up on top of a window sill squished with some other plush. Piine jumped up to grab him and read his tag; it said “Not for Sale”

I was pretty sad about it, We took some photos to document his existence and then we left him. I was thinking about him all night and we went back the next day I was encouraged by the group to make an offer and the owner accepted!! I offered $40aud since that was around the price range their other plush in the store were selling for and I'm so so glad they accepted! He has so much fade on his fur from being up in a window for who knows how many years, his whiskers are almost completely clear in some places! The fur on his belly, back legs and when folding his ears down show what the rest of his fur should look like! Despite all the sun fade, his stripes are still so dark!!

☆ His mechanical insides ☆ Fat Man has a solid in the body with two “limbs” that go in the tail and head. At the moment he isn't in working order but his battery box and wires look okay and Piine may have a look into seeing if their insides can be repaired. My guess is that the "limbs" move in some way? I would really love to find out!

If there is anyone that has seen another mechanical Tasile thylacine, I would LOVE to see another one, Especially if its in working order ^w^! We had a good look online but couldn't find anyone else owning one/posting about one! OH And he's a Foot Fella! (a collection of Tasile thylas that I have named because they have very large feet)

And yes, Yarrow can actually kind of wear Purslane as a backpack... But it's a bit of a tight fit. Look, now Purslane has a tail too!
