Abbott is manufacturing another fake outrage issue to gin up support for himself in his bid for reelection in 2022.

The Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) is a PRIVATE, NON-PROFIT service and lobbying group for public school boards in Texas. It is funded by membership dues, consulting fees, and the sale of liability insurance to school boards. TASB also advises member boards on legal, human resource, and technical issues.

As a PRIVATE organization, TASB has no authority over public school textbooks, library books, or libraries in the state. School boards are TASB’s CLIENTS so it has no authority over them either.

Oh my. This is torture because I’ve been avoiding this doc for months due to guilt... It doesn’t prevent me for thinking about it all the time though, I guess that’s a good sign?

You actually succeeded at making me open the doc: the next chapter (Chapter 18) is all planned out but I have exactly 0 word written in it. 

Hello there, lovely people!

A quick update, if anyone is still around, about TASB and fic stuff. 

So, next chapter of TASB  is still not ready at all (sorry, you all know I’m just not good at being regular at updates...), BUT: the thing that’s been keeping me from TASB is looking more and more like it will be finished soon-ish. It’s not done yet but it looks like we’re nearly there. 

This is just my way to reassure those of you still waiting for TASB: I’ve been writing a lot, this is not a case of “writer block” or whatever. I’ve just fallen victim to a distraction and needed to write that other story to be able to have my brain focus on TASB again. 

Hopefully it will be soon enough ;)

So, if there is anyone interested around here, I need to come clean: you will have to wait a little more for That Awful Snape Boy’s next chapter.

It’s not abandoned (I’m always being asked so I wanted to make that clear!), this is not even a hiatus per se since I think about it all the time and I’ve been planning some stuff on and off for TASB regularly and I’ve always been very inconsistent with my update schedule anyway. So, don’t worry, it will come eventually.

Some other thing came up and my brain couldn’t let it go... (it’s Snape centered too, so maybe it will be worth it for some of you? I hope so). I’ve been trying to take that story out of my brain by writing it once and for all. I’m not sure I will end up publishing it but it’s getting more and more probable as a big chunk of it is already in first draft form and the whole thing is outlined. 

So, yes, this is taking me away from TASB at the moment but I’ve been writing a lot regardless and I plan to go back to TASB as soon as my brain is free of this new shiny thing. 

Sometimes, I’m not the one who decide. My poor lil’ Sev though, I feel bad for making him wait!

Usually, the more I write, the more I want to write, so this could end up being a very good thing for TASB too - fingers crossed.
