TARSAL TUNNEL SYNDROME
Tarsal tunnel syndrome is like #carpaltunnelsyndrome if the ankle. The tibial nerve sits on the inside of the ankle and provides a large majority of sensation and muscle innervation to the foot.
It's been a while since I've seen tarsal tunnel syndrome severe enough to damage the nerve. After I found this with #EMG, I decided to localize this with ultrasound. This is an #ultrasound picture of the tibial nerve getting pinched (pic 1) from what I presume is an enlarged vein or scar tissue. Pic 2 is of the other tibial nerve. Note the difference!
