On the sexuality post, I think you’re right and should say it. When I moved to my new city a year ago it was a looooot bigger than my hometown and people would constantly be like. Pushing me and my (at the time) boyfriend for visibility way before we were ready because it was more “accepted” here and we “dont have to hide”. It’s still the south. It’s still a danger. When I was younger an acquaintance’s dad would get drunk and brag to other parents about luring a gay man to his home and killing him in what was called self defense but was actually an act of sending a message that queerness is violently unwelcome and people in power recognize that as well. Who’s to say I wouldn’t be the next if I’m as open as I’d like to be, even if it is more accepted up here. People will still be people no matter where you are and no matter how much you wish it’s not true and I wish more people would understand that. I’d love to be out and proud too but it’s not an option everywhere for everyone
Exactly. People don't have to be extremely open and informative about their sexuality to total strangers to justify their place in the LGBTQ+ community. I wouldn't be that open if I were living in the most gay-friendly city in the world.
I just started working for Chewy’s pharmacy now and we have a bunch of vets who HATE us and I’m really not sure why other than like from a small-business-losing-customers-to-big-business standpoint (we’re fixing that tho, customers can order from their vet directly on our site now so they get the profit and we fill the order as their wholesaler) but like I was wondering what it’s like dealing w us from the vet/tech side. Do you have any experience with people ordering meds through chewy or like any opinions on it? Some are literally telling our customers we sell fake medications and shit and it’s been really wild seeing the range of opinions people have
In the past at least (I have no truly recent info) the products purchased through chewy that were gotten through you guys from china were indeed fake. Some flea products, for example, were actually comprised of a large amount of urine.
If it’s not purchased through the vet hospital, who generally gets it directly from the manufacturer, we can’t guarantee the product. If the product isn’t correct, it can kill an animal. It also means if the animal suffers bad side effects, there’s no recompense and no real ability to gather information.
Clients seem to complain more about needing recheck exams when they aren’t getting the meds from the vet hospital, even though those rechecks can be vitally important to make sure the meds are working correctly.
