I love writing, but I haven't done much of it in years. I posted some fanfiction online during my undergrad days, but since then I have had a year and a half slowly becoming more and more depressed trying to find work to save up a bit for grad school, followed by a year and a half of going through grad school as quickly as possible to minimize the debt I was taking on instead.
I was born and raised in Cajun Country. While I'm proud of my roots, I also know I do not want to spend the rest of my life there.
I know more French than both my parents and all eight of my living aunts and uncles put together, but it is academic, Parisian French, rather than the Cajun French that was my grandparents' first language.
Because of the high water table, the cemeteries I grew up around were all above ground crypts. The idea to actually being buried in the ground for people to walk over the body weirds me out.
I grew up in an area rural enough that my backyard bordered a cow pasture and my high school bordered a sugarcane field, but I feel more at home in cities.
I have always loved learning, researching a wide array of topics in depth just for the fun of it.
I have always hated the school systems I have been forced to put up with. Having to prove I've learned a topic based on someone else's arbitrary testing standard, rather than practical, real-world applications, just rubs me the wrong way.
I own books on urban planning because they give me ideas for city-based fantasy stories.
I have tried multiple times to read The Lord of the Rings, but I just can't get into Tolkien's writing style.
I hated PE when I was a kid, because I can't trow a ball straight over any real distance to save my life. I have always, however, enjoyed physical exertion like running and dancing. The few times my PE classes played dodge ball, I was actually really good at it because I was allowed to obey the basic human instinct to move away from the hard object speeding towards me.
(Tagged? Your it! I know I've barely interacted with some of you, but you seem like interesting people)
How about a Christmas prompt where Loki feels holiday depression being surrounded by the happy Avengers, and Darcy helps him get some Christmas spirit?
ASDFGHJKL. I love that. Yes. Thank you thank you! :D I will maybe write that tonight, depending on how my homework goes. and depending on when I actually start doing my homework cough.
I will love you eternally. Thank you.
