Tomorrow I start a new job. I am nervous to say the least. Before bed, my boyfriend told me to "kick ass tomorrow". From beyond the veil, I swear I heard you saying the mantra you told me everyday before I went to school, starting in kindergarten:
Later this would be followed by "And watch your back".
On your last day I told myself this before I went to school since you could no longer speak. It's a comforting reminder that you taught me to be strong and stand for my own. It's something I need to re-establish going into this new job. The blinders have been torn away and I know how souless corporate America is now. It's time for me to do what you always advised.
It's time for me to kick ass and take names.
