See I don’t think that Tom is a person who thinks much of the past: he lives and works for himself in the present time, and that’s what matters to reach his goals in the future. However, sometimes memories from his journey would hit him: his hometown, a place he thought he’d never make it out, now thousands of miles away from his Hollywood life. The person who he was before his cinematic breakthrough, who he still is deep inside under the muscles and the actor charisma he puts on for the cameras. But he also remembers the person who he was before Parker, who becomes one of the most, if not the most important person in his life, and now that he has her, he likes his new me very much more.

He can’t understand how he couldn’t see since day one every entrancing and heart fluttering detail about her that make him be obsessed with her every day a little bit more. He can’t phantom how he could ever think low of her (and many other people, to be honest) just because she wasn’t a famous actress or model like his usual companies; how he couldn’t see how gorgeous she was from the first moment he laid eyes on her (not that he didn’t think she wasn’t hot stuff, but to him she is much more than that now). He can’t imagine how he didn’t fall head over heals for her in the first place when now he can’t see himself with anyone else for the rest of his life.

He also knows that his past self and Parker wouldn’t have been a good thing. Not like they are now, after everything’s that’s happened; she didn’t deserve a Tom who couldn’t value her, because he wasn’t capable of it; if he didn’t value himself as a person, not only as an actor on billboards and with tons of fans, how could he have valued and cherished the most ever perfect woman on earth the way she deserved? And even though the journey has been sometimes rough, he’s glad that now every morning he sees her by his side, at arms reach for him to hold her as close as he can and kiss her softly to wake her up, even if she will complain about waking up early. He wouldn’t mind, though; he’d laugh every time and hold her a little bit closer to his chest, close to his heart, which was all hers even before he knew it himself.
