I really love your guide for couples with mental illness. These things however do not necessarily apply to someone in the relationship with antisocial personality disorder -they acknowledge their diagnosis but haven't quite accepted it in a way? And fall back into the old patterns. Are you familiar with anyone that has gone thru this or tried to maintain a healthy relationship with someone who has it? Or your followers perhaps?
Lol I'm silly I just saw that u weren't the one that answered the post. Ugh embarrassing. But if u have insight anyway, I would certainly welcome any advice.
yeah, sorry, i wasnât the one who actually wrote the guide! i donât have any advice specific to antisocial pd because i donât know much about it, but i will just say that falling back into old patterns is pretty common for most people with mental illnesses, and the info in that post isnât like a trick to immediately make everything easy--it requires as prerequisites: a) some acknowledgement that being in a relationship while youâre mentally ill is difficult, and b) the desire to make your relationship work in a healthy way.Â
if anyone with aspd or with a partner with aspd has any insight, feel free to add!
