#takingthetime

Tonight, as was laid out in our agreement I fulfilled my part of the contract and accompanied my betrothed to the movies...just kidding! A few weeks ago my friend made me promise her that I wouldn’t see the new Kingsmen movie without her so tonight we went to do just that. The movie ended up being absolutely hilarious and dare I say, in my opinion better than the first, plus Channing Tatum isn’t to bad to look at. ;)

Today I had a couple things already planned out when my best friend texted me asking if I wanted to get breakfast, heck yes! Being that I already had plans that were going to slightly run into this new endeavor I asked her if it was alright if my mom tagged along. A few minutes later we were all loaded in the car and heading to our breakfast destination. We were seated and ordered my friend and I ordering a meal and my mom just getting a coffee, we sat, ate, chatted and caught up for a long time before finally paying our bills and heading out. An interesting point to mention here, my intention was to pay for my mom’s coffee and anything she may have wanted to eat, instead at the time of asking for our bills my best friend said to put the coffee on her bill. My mom and I both told her it was alright, but she insisted. It appears I am not the only one in my immediate circle doing kind acts, so thank you to her. After our breakfast date we dropped my friend back off at home as she had some other things she was doing today, and my mom and I headed on through our day.

Later this afternoon my mom and I arrived back home to regroup. She was heading out with my dad and I had made plans a few weeks ago to accompany another friend of mine to a condo viewing, unfortunately yesterday we learned that this event had been cancelled, but we were still going to get together for a bit. As you may remember my mom and I have been working through watching all the Marvel universe movies, well I have been having issues obtaining a copy of the first Captain America movie, luckily my friend had a suggestion. I met her at “The Beat Goes On” (which I had completely forgotten existed) and low and behold I found it! We each picked up a few things and from there we headed to get some frostys from Wendy’s where we sat and chatted for a bit. Eventually we parted ways and each headed home for dinner.

This evening my original plan was to just run a few small errands and then take it easy for the remainder of the night. That didn’t entirely end up happening, while planning my trip that’s coming up in the new few weeks I have been in constant touch with my brother and his wife who will be joining me at the same resort part way through the week. While we were texting back and forth today my brother invited me to come over to their house to chat about a few vacation related things. I agreed saying I was going to finish up a few things, grab some dinner and head over, at which point I was also offered barbecued steak for dinner. SOLD! I quickly finished up what I was doing and drove over. We spent the night barbecuing, chatting and finally sitting by the fire before ending our night. It was nice to catch up, share a few stories, and make an outline of plans/preparations for our getaways. From the sounds of it we have each had some different travel experiences, but now we all have some rounded knowledge on what to lookout for. Just a bit of packing left to be done and then we will be on our ways, it’s getting exciting! Today’s random act of kindness: making the time count with those who matter.
