  âI know.â She reached for his hand and took it gently. âEverythingâs alright now, though.â
   âAye.â
   He was hollow, still. With grief. With loss. Raw and sleepless with the guilt of feeling he shouldâve protected her, and knowing heâd been powerless to. And all the more miserable, because she was still there. Sat beside him on his bed. Like all the times sheâd been before. And much as he knew sheâd change... She was different. His brain was still struggling with it. Still feeling like everything he did, was betraying her somehow. Betraying the memory of a woman who wasnât --- strictly speaking --- dead.
   He was an idiot. Knew it. But he just missed her so bloody much.
   âI donât...â The words came slow. Uncomfortable. Same as the look on his face.  âI donât know what tâ say tâ yâ now.â
