Prophet Muhammad ﷺ promised that every century, a re-newer of the faith of Islam will arise. Throughout history, great Muslim intellectuals, rulers, generals, and artists have come and managed to rejuvenate faith in the Muslim world and help Muslims deal with the problems of that age. For each one of these great figures, a specific historical context was necessary for them to accomplish what they did.

One of the greatest renewers of the faith in history was the 11th century scholar Abu Hamid al-Ghazali. Today, he is known as Hujjat al-Islam, the Proof of Islam, because of his efforts in intellectually fighting against some of the most dangerous ideas and philosophies that plagued the Muslim world during his time. From the ubiquitous nature of ancient Greek philosophy to the rising tide of political Shi’ism, Imam al-Ghazali did not leave a stone unturned in his effort to bring back serious Islamic scholarship in the face of heterodox threats. I just finished reading the classic Historical narrative, "History of the Caliphs" by As-Suyuti. And I usually don't do book reviews, but this book is remarkable on so many levels because it showed us how we got to the state we are in today as an Ummah. 

I find the history of us as Muslims, not only an interesting narrative but a beautifully written historical masterpiece because if we are to look at history, Islam and Muslims were threatened to extinction almost a couple of times and yet we are still here. 

I can't see a century without seeing a war, either waged from within by ignorants, or by someone out there that wants to make a name for themselves. And it's remarkable how every successive Caliph was different from the former. You had anyone from the righteous Harun Al Rachid of the Abbasids to the butchering AbdelMalik bin Marwan of the Ummayads. 

It's not only remarkable to see that through earthquakes, civil wars, plagues, nine crusades, Mongol invasions, and other calamities that befell us we are still here, and Muslims are if anything increasing in number. As much as we see the world today with the death of Syrians, Genocides in the Balkans, or the suppressed Baluch or Kurds in various regions we must realize the Muslims have always been facing a trial and hardship.

And every single time, one thought they lost hope, they didn't. Scholars, peoples, through sweat and tears kept preaching Islam to the last letter. The very book Al Aqeedah Al Wasatiyah by Ibn Taymiyyah for example was written as a last hope effort for a man that left his home and sought refuge in a barren land and requested Ibn Taymiyyah to write a set of morals every Muslim should have because he was afraid Islam would be extinct. And God saved us from those calamities and every person out there now knows about Islam and more or less are politically or academically part of the narrative, or are against it.

I feel a lot of people have confused Tajdid(The Renewal of Islamic Faith every century) with the word "Reform".

Islam was brought down 1400 years ago and is timeless; none of its tenants need any reform, none of The Prophet's hadiths or the Quranic Ayahs need any Naskh(Abrogation) by anyone after the Prophet(S) nor do we need someone telling us that our Faith is incompatible with the modern world and needs Reform.

If you believe the Prophetic Hadiths or Quranic Ayahs are Sexist or Racist, or cannot be compatible with your thought, it's not the Hadith that is sexist, but rather your thought process that cannot comprehend what the Prophet(S) meant by it. Humble yourself by reading the Sharh(Explanation) of Those Traditions. Open your mind to various scholars that have asked every question you have thought of before you and have dedicated their lives to understanding it.

I am not surprised by all the "Reformist" movements out there, however am baffled by their lack of methodology and sincerity to understanding Islam sometimes.

Islam wasn't made to fulfill your needs and desires, but rather God gave us rules to fulfill his guidelines since he is the one that created us initially and knows us better than ourselves.

This conspiracy theory that Islam has been hijacked by so and so really confuses me, because it is based on either false traditions or literally fabricated narrations.

Faulty arguments never have any value in any academic environment, and religion is no exception. 

Tajdid on the other hand, is making light of Islamic principles, and extracting them to fit a world where there was no explicit instructions at the time of the Prophet(S) and thus we need to set guidelines on how to practice our faith in a new century.

The Prophet(S) had promised that every century there will be a Mujaddid(Renewer) of the Faith, and he or she will make light of those principles and extract them through Ijtihad to fulfill the grey area that we feel we are always in every single day of our lives. 

Examples of Mujaddids include Umar ibn AbdelAziz, The Four Imams, Al Ghazali, Ibn Taymiyyah, As-Suyuti and many others. Even the awaited Imam Mahdi will be considered a Mujaddid.

Sejak munculnya win 7 saya bertanya-tanya mengapa mirip seperti KDE. ya KDE salah satu Desktop Environmentnya linux. kemudian saya mencari sumber mengapa win 7 mirip sekali dengan KDE. TERNYATA microsoft MENCURI core dan librarinya KDE. lalu mereka memodifikasi ulang dengan memasukan kernel linux 2.6.24.x supaya Desktop Environmentnya stabil

Rencana peluncuran win 8 bukan main. Sejak saya menemukan spesifikasi komputer untuk win 8 yang LEBIH RINGAN DARIPADA WIN 7 bahkan pentium 4 yang mempunyai kartu grafis yang rendah pun dapat diinstall win 8. Saya kembali bertanya-tanya. Ternyata Microsoft lagi-lagi mencuri core dan librarinya Gnome Versi 2. Ya Gnome juga merupakan Desktop Environmentnya Linux yang sudah dimodifikasi.(Source : detik.com)

Dari point 1 dan 2 pasti anda bertanya mengapa bisa terjadi begitu......?? Penyebabnya adalah Microsoft bekerjasama dengan Novel yaitu pembuat Distro Open Suse dan Suse Linux Enterprise. awalnya Microsoft bermaksud hanya MEMBANTU dalam masalah pengidentifikasian Hardware karena linux belum banyak didukung banyak hardware. Ternyata Microsoft ada maksud lain

Dulu Microsoft berkoar-koar menuntut linux yang melanggar hak paten karena opensource dan berniat akan digiring ke meja hijau. Ternyata Microsoft ada maksud lain. Yaitu INGGIN MENJATUHKAN LINUX DARI KEJAYAANNYA.(Source : blogspot.com)

Kasus Windows Vista adalah bukti nyata bahwa ntoskernel Win Vista adalah re-essemble (modifikasi ulang) kernel 2.6.24x... yang mana ini diketahui pada kasus bug Ubuntu 8.04 yang tidak mungkin dual boot lawan Win Vista  (vmlnuz-2.6.24.x being used by ntldr) ketahuan juga busuknya sejak 3 tahun silam. Inilah PENYEBAB gagalnya Windows Vista. Padahal ni bukan alesan utama gagalnya windows vista tetapi alesan utamanya adalah mereka menutup-nutupinya supaya tidak ketahuan.(Source : Bug repport dari ubuntu 8.04)

Awalnya System Operasi Windows adalah hasil curian dari prototype Apple {Steve Jobs} yang dimodifikasi oleh Bill Gates. masa....?? nih ceritanya. Saat Bill Gates sibuk berdagang DOS, Steve Jobs dengan perusahaannya Apple semakin berkibar setelah membeli “mouse” dari perusahaan kecil bernama Xerox. Saat itu, Steve mendengar kabar bahwa Xerox menemukan sebuah teknologi yang bernama GUI. Hal ini membuatnya penasaran. Karena takut didahului oleh kompetitor, ia kemudian dengan cepat mendatangi markas Xerox. Berkilah untuk mengajak bekerjasama, Steve meminta Xerox untuk mempraktekkan dan menjelaskan secara detail dari teknologi GUI yang menggunakan “mouse” itu. Sejak saat itu, mereka berhasil menciptakan personal komputer berteknologi GUI. Apple semakin terkenal dan menggeser dominasi IBM yang menggunakan DOS. Mereka kemudian menjadi perusahaan produsen komputer terbesar didunia. Kesuksesan Apple ternyata membuat Bill Gates tertarik untuk bekerja disana. Ia lalu mendatangi markas Apple untuk melamar pekerjaan sebagai programmer. Disana, ia bertemu dan diwawancara oleh Steve Jobs. Mungkin karena ia dikenal sebagai pencipta DOS, sehingga Steve percaya dan menerima lamarannya. Setelah Bill Gates menjadi bagian dari Apple, ternyata ia mencuri prototype yang sedang dikembangkan Apple. Ia lalu mengembangkan hasil curian tersebut tanpa sepengetahuan Steve Jobs. Lambat laun, akhirnya Steve Jobs pun mengetahuinya. Ia mendapat kabar bahwa di Jepang sudah beredar komputer dengan program yang mirip dengan prototype Apple itu. Program tersebut tak lain adalah Microsoft Windows. Hal ini membuat Steve sangat marah. Setelah itu Steve menyuruh Bill Gates untuk menemuinya. Steve mencoba mempertanyakan hal itu namun Bill Gates behasil mengelabuhinya dengan kejeniusan yang ia miliki. Setelah kejadian itu semua, Bill Gates mengundurkan diri dari Aplle Computer, inc. dan Mulai membangun Microsoft Corp. kemudian Microsoft Windows pun semakin berkembang. Pada ulang Tahun Steve yang ke-30 para kawan lama datang menghadirinya dan John Sculley memberikan satu sulangan untuknya. Namun, 3 bulan kemudian John Sculley memecat Steve dari Aplle. Tahun 1997 Steve Jobs kembali bergabung dengan Apple. Hingga pada akhirnya, beberapa tahun kemudian Microsoft Corp. memiliki saham di Apple Computer, Inc. Bahkan Google pun tahu, Ramadhan itu apa....-bulan al-Qur’an-bulan perubahan (mnjadi lbh baik)-bulan (milik) Allah-bulan taubat dan pengampunan -bulan taubat -bulan takwa dan amal -bulan panen (pahala) -bulan kemenangan -bulan kebaikan Nggak ada lho...bulan Ramadhan adalah syahrul musalsalat (bulan sinetron) ^_^
