Taishō Era (1912-1926) Women’s Yukata Vintage Early 20th Century Cream Silk Cherry Blossom Brocade Kimono So very pretty! The Yukata is referred to as the Summer Kimono. Originally created as a bathrobe and usually made with cotton (it literally means “bath(ing) cloth”), the Yukata is now generally worn as a Summer garment... A casual Summer version of the Kimono worn to outdoor events, when out shopping, going for walks or lounging in your garden paradise. This item is from my personal collection inherited from deLuxe Junk Company in Vancouver, BC, Canada; one of the premier Vintage clothing stores in North America for four decades where the focus was on quality, top notch style and relevance. In very good, as-is, condition with a few, very faint rust marks that go unnoticed to the eye. Overall, in excellent shape considering its age. The four panels of sewn silk for the Eri (finished collar) along with the small inner shoulder seam (added to increse the Yukata’s duribility), reveal its genuine 110 year old pedigree. The silk (a dainty cherry blossom brocade) is in great condition, still strong and not brittle. Immpecably hand stitched, simple and so delicate. Totally wearable forever, with lots of life left to give! So cool and so easy to fall in love with; a timeless gem to add to your wardrobe. xoxo Kimono Measurements are always in cm: Mitake ( Kimono length from shoulder to hem ) : 142cm Sodetake ( length of sleeve drop ) : 51cm Yuki ( centre of Kimono to edge of Sode/sleeve ) : 63cm #taishoperiod #1912-1926 #1900s #yukata #cherryblossom #silkbrocade #vintage #summer #kimono #early20thcentury #japanese #style #fashion #picoftheday #instagood #sellonetsy #buymenow #love #artifactsandbeyond https://www.instagram.com/p/CC7DFIQhF00/?igshid=vqwu384b9esw

I found this beautiful and such an inspiring kimono book from library yesterday. I found that my most favorite kimono were from Taisho Period(1912-1926). 大正浪漫という言葉があるだけに大正時代は文化、芸術がものすごく豊かだった時代な気がする。この時代の着物の美しさに心を奪われた。#kimono #womensmovement #1920sjapan #taishoperiod #hiratsukaraicho @canvas.misato
