The Phantom's Suit

This three piece suit was originally designed by Maria Björnson for the original 1986 musical.

Over time, this suit has evolved, but some of the original elements still exist in current productions.

It features buttonholes along the side of the lapels and on the opening of the tailcoat. Various types of fabric, from silk to velvet.

I commisoned this to Magnoli Clothiers, who make expertly detailed costumes and clothing for BTTF the musical.

They took it to their level and were able to create this highly detailed suit, nearly almost as if it were off the stage. So much so that this suit has been Phantom approved!

I still have many, many pieces to create the entire ensemble 100% stage accurate, but for now, this suit takes care of it.

I have mentioned the Black Jesters a couple of times before. I have also promised to tell you more about them, so here we are. The Black Jesters are part of Jon Fjäll's universe. I first encountered them about a decade and a half ago when I journeyed to Snowland. This happened within a role-playing adventure with Jon as game master. The Black Jesters make up a secret organisation of people with a mysterious ability to treat reality in unconventional ways. And masks. They wear masks. That's why I preferred to depict them as Shy Guys. But they are not Shy Guys. As stated in French above, this is not a Shy Guy. This is a Black Jester. If you take a look at any of Jon's pictures of Black Jesters, you may notice that he tend to depict their masks quite differently. I didn't make that journey on my own, by the way. @mangan81 was with me, for example. And so was @jrl_foto. And @fiafideli. She was even recruited to the Black Jesters after a while. But this is not a picture of her. This picture happens to show a half-elven Black Jester named Larion Dreamreader. Based on a drawing, by Jon, of the same jester. But in another style, of course. Larion is a teller and improver of stories. And his connection to dreams is here shown with an incorporation of picture #050.
