Lazy Baby Days ~ Ok Taecyeon
A sigh came from you as soon as you collapsed down on the sofa, you had only just woken up, but you were already exhausted. The days seemed to roll into one as you enjoyed the first week of having your daughter with you, you were tired, stressed, but it was all worth it as you looked at the little one laying on the mat in the middle of the room.
It didn’t take long before you both were joined in the room as Taecyeon walked through from the kitchen with a smile on his face. He was a little surprised to see you, with no plans for once for the day, he was expecting you to stay in bed for as long as possible.
Your baby brain kicked in though as soon as you stirred, getting you up and leaving you wondering around the house to find where the two of them were. You already had plenty of instincts, despite how much you wanted to just stay in bed, you couldn’t bring yourself to do it, knowing that you’d be needed elsewhere.
“We finally have a day of nothing,” Taecyeon cheered as he flopped down beside you, “no one coming round to visit, disturbing us, it’s just the three of us for a change,” he smiled, placing his hand down to rest against the top of your leg.
“I can’t wait for some peace and quiet,” you hummed, “it’s been nice having visitors, but it’s so chaotic hosting so many people.”
His head nodded in agreement with you, having played host to your families, friends, and the boys too, it was nice to take a day for yourselves again.
Your head leant down to rest against Taecyeon’s shoulder, “can we just not move from this spot?”
“Honestly, that sounds like a good idea to me,” he replied as he wrapped his arm around your waist, “I know I’ve been with you all week, but I’ve missed having to share you so much.”
It didn’t take long before your attention was drawn to the little girl laying on the mat as a quiet squeak came from her. “It looks like someone else missed being with you too,” you joked, pointing Taecyeon in the direction of your daughter.
“We can cuddle her all day, and not have to give her to anyone else.”
“I quite like not having to share her for the day.”
A hum of acknowledgment came from Taecyeon, “we can just do as little as possible, it’s about time we gave ourselves some time to let it sink in that we’re parents.”
“It still feels like a bit of a dream, doesn’t it?” You asked as he nodded, “we’ve been on the go all week arranging visits and trips out to see different people, we’ve not stopped.”
“Today we can stop, it’s important that the two of us get the chance to breathe again too.”
You couldn’t remember the last time your house was as quiet as it was right then, people had been in and out all week ever since you got home. You loved seeing so many people excited to meet your daughter, and you loved introducing her too, but the crowds of people and the conversations had taken their toll on you.
Taecyeon was worried about you too, wanting to make sure that you had enough time to recover. Despite you reassuring him, he could tell several times as you met everyone through the week that there were moments when you were suffering.
“I feel like I’m on such a high right now,” you suddenly told him as the two of you fell silent, “I know that I should want to sleep right now, but instead I just want to keep looking at Y/D/N and admiring her. I just keep asking myself how the two of us managed to make a baby that’s so flipping adorable and cute.”
“I ask myself the same thing too,” Taecyeon assured you, “but then I look at you and remember why my daughter has such good genes, she takes after you, of course.”
Your eyes rolled as a kiss was pressed to the top of your head, followed by a chuckle from Taecyeon. He couldn’t help but find the right things to say around you, having taken the best care of you ever since the three of you left the hospital and came home.
“Do you need anything?” He asked as his eyes turned down to look at you, “are you comfortable enough sitting here? I can go and get you a cushion or something if you want one.”
“I’m alright,” you smiled in reply to him, “laying against you is much more comfortable than laying on a cushion, as long as you’re alright here too.”
“Of course, I’m with my two favourite girls.”
“I think one of your favourite girls might need feeding soon,” you told him.
Taecyeon nodded as he smiled down at your daughter, admiring the innocence in her eyes as she stared around the room. “I wonder if she’s had any clue about what’s gone on this week, whether she recognised anyone’s faces or voices.”
“She seemed pretty excited when she met your mum,” you reminded him with a laugh, “but she did speak to my bump constantly when I was pregnant.”
“She kept saying the baby would know her voice, I reckon she was right too.”
The excitement of everyone around you was what made your pregnancy so special for the both of you. Although you were in your own bubble of excitement, you shared that bubble with so many other people too who couldn’t wait to see the two of you become parents.
“Do you want me to help if you’re going to feed her?” Taecyeon asked you, noticing you beginning to get things sorted, “is there really anything that I can do?”
Your head nodded in response, “you can keep the two of us company?” You offered, struggling to know what else Taecyeon could do to help you out whilst you fed.
“I’ll change her after too, I’ll save you the trouble of going near her nappy.”
You nodded once again at his offer, more than happy to leave the changing down to Taecyeon. It was the one thing that you were still struggling with, not sure quite how your daughter managed to make such a mess when she had such an innocent smile on her face.
You loved to joke how she took after Taecyeon, a joke that his mother very quickly agreed with too when you told her about it. She couldn’t help but embarrass Taecyeon in front of everyone else who was visiting your daughter on that day.
“Come on, you,” he grinned, unwrapping his arm from around you and moving down onto the floor to lift your daughter up off of her mat.
Your eyes watched Taecyeon straight away, letting go of a laugh as he lifted her high up into the air before bringing her back down to press against her tummy. Her little squirms as Taecyeon did so were like music to his ears, a sound that he knew that he was never going to get used to, no matter how often she laughed.
He could feel your eyes watching as he spun around to face you, handing your daughter across to you gently so that you could feed her before carrying on with the rest of your day.
“I can’t wait to do nothing with you two today,” Taecyeon told you as he passed her.
“Our very first lazy baby day.”
