Ocean of Memories
There is a place unknown to most, a collection of islands cut off from whatever world may surround it by a wall of mist that will always return those who venture into it back to the islands. Despite that many of those who call the islands home came from elsewhere and washed ashore, some remember almost nothing, others remember their lives completely, they all have one thing in common, their last memory was prominently about water.
Living on the islands can be difficult, but the people who live here have discovered a power anyone can harness. Spark, potential turned to pure energy, something that one unlocks for themselves over time. People can learn to channel it through their body, in the form of Aura, or with their mind, in the form of Mana. Both allowing people to accomplish superhuman tasks, though both still being rudimentary.
But power exists in another form on these islands. Keepsakes, small tokens that form when someone has unlocked their spark and has a strong drive to reach a goal at the time of their death. depending on the exact keepsake it affects an object or a person, but keepsakes are known to be capable of things neither mana or aura can do, though many of them end up quite situational.
Many who live on these islands take to forming ship crews, some seek to understand the hidden history of the islands, others simply seek treasure and fame as much as they can get. Whatever the reason you might choose to join your crew, you are certainly in for an adventure.
Hear me out. A ttrpg world where, instead of various afterlives, it's only got reincarnation. But because of this the god of death or grim reaper isn't a dark cloaked skeletal figure who is heralded by crows, but rather is represented by the phoenix, bright flame colors, various rainbow shades.
Anybody else got that one character they played in a potentially cancelled game that just continues to live rentfree in your head in the form of what ifs for where their story could go or even AU's. But you can't ever use them in a different game because the story is so linked to the world and other characters so your head is where they are stuck living.

Who else likes doing that thing where you make a character for a TTRPG by combining 2 unconventional options, or build a character different from the norm on purpose. Like a goliath wizard just cause it's funny. Or an assassin who literally glows. or a spellcaster who's almost as good with large weapons as a fighter.
