When Lieblings went canoe camping we stopped to park the second vehicle downstream of where they started on the Whiteface River.
There was a bridge going over the river with a train track and I was really enthralled by how many taconite pellets the freights drop and couldn’t resist a handful as souveniers. Taconite pellets are processed iron ore and a big product of the area.
