Mysterium 2023 Photo Op with Rand Miller

I got the chance to take a picture with Rand Miller, one of the developers of Myst, last weekend!

Of course, I wore my Watcher's Pub Jacket, but also brought along the Locked Myst Book, and a little character, Little T-Squared, that I hope to get back to in future projects!

He liked everything, but he got a chuckle out of Little T-Squared, dressed as Atrus (along with Riven's prison book) the most!

who is more excited for halloween?-TAVI. “TiM, WE SHOULD BE BATMAN AND ROBIN.” “How come you get to be Batman?!”

who gives the best gifts?-Tim, tbh.

who sings along to the radio the loudest?-Tavi, who will flip out if a Taylor Swift song plays.

who actually finishes a book they’ve started?-Tavi, and I applaud her because Tim is a distracting little shit.

who falls asleep during a movie?-Tim loves it when Tavi falls asleep because she curls up next to him.

who plans a surprise getaway vacation?-What? He has Bruce’s money and a flying motorcycle!

who comes home with useless decorative knick knacks for the house every single day?-“Tim, we don’t need a Santa hat for the dresser!”

who takes more pictures?-Tavi uses her superspeed to get candid pics because Tim always looks into the camera when she doesn’t.

who likes baths? who likes showers?-Tavi likes baths, Tim likes showers; but as long as they can fondue, they don’t really care.

who keeps a weekly planner?-pSH. Neither. 😂

who actually watches the discovery channel?-“Tim, you know that Megaladon’s not alive anymore, right?” “BuT YOU NEVER KNOW!”

who brings up having kids first?-Tim’s eyes were the size of dinner plates because he knew the consequences that he would get from Bucky.

who fixes things around the house when they break?-Tim. “Duct tape fixes everything!”

who leaves their dirty towels on the floor?-Tim. “GODDAMNIT, DRAKE!”

who makes the coffee in the morning?-Tim. He needs it to function properly.

who gets jealous over very petty things?-Tavi.

who exercises more?-Most likely Tim, though Tavi trains with Nat sometimes.

who starts listening to christmas music in october?-“Tavi, it’s only October.” “I DONT CARE”

“You ready to go, Em?” Harry asked, wrapping his scarf around his neck. “Tim and Tavi are waiting for us downstairs and the traffic is getting bad.”

“But it’s so far....” I whined, sliding off the bed in an attempt to stall. The dinner was going to be completely casual, so we didn’t need to change into other clothes. “And I have superspeed. I could run us over there in less than a minute.”

“But you hate running,” he pointed out, tugging me to my feet. He tossed me a wool coat and urged, “Let’s go before they get suspicious. You know how they are.”

Eventually, we made it downstairs and hopped into the town car that Harry called up. Apparently he had a person chauffer. That made sense, I guess; he was rich, probably had to constantly check emails whenever he was doing other things. The life of a CEO is hard. I wouldn’t know, but I’m pretty sure it’s common knowledge at this point.

“What took you guys so long?” Tavi asked, running a hand through her hair to move the silver streak back into place. Tim sat next to her in the back row, an arm around her shoulders. “Bucky texted us asking where we were.”

Before I could answer, Tim suggested, “Maybe they were ‘busy’.” He put air quotations up when he said the word, which gave enough implication for even me to understand. According to Bucky, “the sex jokes go over” my head. I mean- come on! It only took me two minutes to understand the burrito metaphor!

“Oh my god, Tim; you are an idiot,” I remarked, shaking my head and looking out the window as we began approaching the apartment building. Beside me, Harry smirked and chuckled at my reaction. Of course he would. That little shit.

“At least I’m not a glittering idiot,” Tim reasoned, putting up his hands in mock surrender when Harry turned around to give him a look. “Hey- Hope started it. I’m just continuing it for her since she’s not here.”

Tavi laughed at me as I covered my face with my hands and grumbled about how Tim was going to get killed one day because of his remarks and not because he’s Robin. “Don’t worry, Em! No need to hide!”

We pulled up to the front of the building. As we got out, our noses froze almost immediately and the inside of the car’s  windows began fogging up. Luckily, Bucky and Natasha lived in a relatively quiet area. Across the street was a small park, and the traditional-looking lamp posts made it seem like a scene from a movie.

“You guys suck. Tim, I swear to god, if you make this dinner any more awkward than it already is I’ll defenestrate you.”

Sometimes I wonder why Tim is Bucky’s favorite.

“-And so, I’m just casually strolling through, and then Blitz over here smacks into me,” Tim explains, enthusiastic as ever. He tells the same story every time something relationship-related happens- whether it’s a dinner date with two master assassins or at a movie theater. You know what I’m talking about, right? How when Tim and Tavi first met Tavi pulled the Red Robin joke? After hearing it about five times, it get’s really old.

Bucky’s nodding, but I’m pretty sure he wasn’t actually paying attention. He swirled his fork across his plate absentmindedly, looking up every few seconds. “Right,” he began. “So, what’ve you guys been up to today?” 

I’m attempting to kill off T’Pel so I can hook up Torres and Tuvok (Long story). I know The crew gets letters in Season 4, and then makes contact with with SF command in Season 6, Is there any communication in the interim? I don’t think there was, but I am wrong a lot and I think I have a really good idea. :)
