Here's a little cross post of a sound design challenge I did earlier this year on Twitter. I had people ask for certain sounds and then made them on the Hydrasynth Desktop. Fun. This is a String Machine patch, designed to emulate (or at least capture the spirit of) the kind of string synths that so many prog and kosmische acts used.
It uses all 8 macros to offer a bit of verisimilitude in control. You can bring in different "instruments" (hi/lo string, orchestra, etc) with different knobs, control the attack and decay, and dial in two different flavors of phaser, one subtle and one over the top.
