Zepaplatonic — A term for people who are both aplatonic (or apl-spec) and alloplatonic, or are a mix of the two. For example, a person might identify as zepaplatonic if:
They are on the cusp of apl-spec and alloplatonic.
They experience a "grey area" of platonic attraction.
Their favorability towards friendships, platonic relationships, or platonic interaction does not align with their platonic attraction in the "expected" way, such as cupioplatonic, orchidplatonic, etc.
Their platonic attraction fluctuates, such as abroplatonic, aplflux, etc.
Their platonic orientation can otherwise be described as both alloplatonic and aplatonic, or on the aplatonic spectrum.

Etymology — Originally, I called this synepaplatonic on October 24, 2025. It came from syn ("with; together"), ep ("in addition to; among" or "attached to") and a ("without; not"), literally meaning "with in addition to without" platonic attraction. It was coined as an alternative to Schrödiplatonic, for the same reasons that synepasexual was coined.
I then proposed that the term be updated to zepaplatonic on March 6, 2026, to simplify the term and make it a bit more accessible. The etymology is roughly the same, but the prefix syn is replaced with the letter z, representing the opposite of a and referencing the term zedplatonic. It can be pronounced "zeppuh" or "zeepuh" depending on personal preference; either one is correct.
Flag Symbolism — The flag takes heavy inspiration from the aplatonic flag and the zepasexual flag:
Black represents aplatonic people. It has a subtle blue tint to indicate inclusion in the aplatonic spectrum.
Blue represents the entire aplatonic spectrum. Blue was chosen because the aplatonic flag uses purple, blue, and green as an inverse of colors commonly used to represent friendship. Blue is the “middle” color of the three, and has the added bonus of being distinct from the purple and green of the synepace and syneparo flags, respectively.
Grey represents greyplatonic, demiplatonic, and other apl-spec identities that aren’t aplatonic. It has a subtle blue tint to indicate inclusion in the aplatonic spectrum.
White represents being alloplatonic.
Yellow represents platonic attraction, activity, and/or favorability. This was chosen because yellow is often used to represent friendship.

I'm considering renaming synepasexual, syneparomantic, synepaplatonic, synepansthetic, and all other potential synepa labels to zepa instead. This would simplify the terms and shorten them down considerably, which I hope would result in them being more accessible.
The syn prefix means "with; together" and is intended to represent the allo part of the identity. I'm thinking about switching it to a simple z, being the opposite of a aphabetically, and referencing the zed prefix used in zedsexual, zedromantic, etc. (synonyms for allo)
This would end up looking like this:
Synepasexual -> Zepasexual
Syneparomantic -> Zeparomantic
Synepaplatonic -> Zepaplatonic
Synepansthetic -> Zepansthetic
All other instances of synepa would also become zepa
It would be pronounced "zeppuh" or "zeepuh" (I'm leaning towards the former, personally)
Should I rename them? The original posts would be edited, though the original prefix would still be mentioned in the etymology section for history's sake.
