Dean was just fixing his tie when he heard that now familiar voice, he turned around, shoving the awful flowers in his pocket and let out a loud sigh. Truthfully he didn’t want this, but having a normal life? Well he had thought that this was his only chance.

“And why not? What else have I got?”

The truth was Connor wasn’t even planning on showing up to the wedding. How do you just show up to the wedding of the guy you were boning just a few days ago? How would you even introduce yourself to the bride? Dean and Connor met through work but it didn’t take long for them to take it to a very unprofessional level and it continued from there.

Their relationship was strange from the start. They were working a case together, then they were fuck buddies and then friends. The order was all screwed up but so were they. That’s why they got along so well. One of the reasons, anyway. It also helped that Dean was a power bottom. 

Connor rolled up the sleeves of his shirt as he approached Dean to help him with his tie. The guy should just get a clip on. It was never right, at least not up to Connor’s standards. “You’re lying to yourself.” Said Connor, keeping his brown eyes on the tie as he undid the knot and started over.

“I know why you’re doing this.” Connor knew Dean wanted a normal life, away from what he did for the living, what he really did not the FBI cover up. He also knew that a normal life involved a marriage, something socially accepted, between a man and a woman. Obergefel v. Hodges legalized same sex marriages across the United States but people weren’t as accepting as people in same sex relationships would have liked them to be. If Dean was in a relationship with a man, let alone married a man, he wouldn’t ever be seen as normal. 

Annalise had said she had a special job for Connor. He was supposed to meet up with an FBI agent who was sure he could prove the innocence of their client based on the evidence. She sent Connor to a restaurant, incognito and far from the office, to sit and chat with the agent about what they'd both found and what their theories were.

Well, at least it was a free meal and Annalise had said the reason why she chose Connor was because the guy was hot and looked like he would be interested in a guy like Connor. Whatever the fuck that meant. At least Connor would get to work with some eye candy.
