Whoever writes stuff on tvtropes for SW content is dumb (no surprise there)
On the ymmv page for Obi-Wan Kenobi, under "franchise original sin" it calls into question Reva being able to survive a lightsaber stab through anger, despite also acknowledging that Maul survives a similar wound (actually what he survives is worse), because she doesn't "have the requisite training"
I'm gonna have to say it aren't I?
Surviving a stab wound (something normal real world people can survive, seriously spend some time looking up incredible injury survival) is not something you need "training" for
What you need is anger, that's it
Anakin didn't have "training" (because he'd only been a sith for a day at best) yet he survived his immolation, because he was angry enough
And Reva certainly had the anger
Anger at herself, anger at Vader, anger at Obi-Wan, and thanks to the communicator with the message from Bail about Luke, she had an outlet
Not to mention the fact that Kenobi previously set a lightsaber stab up as a survivable injury
How?
The grand inquisitor
By stabbing a character who we know survives (and also he shows up to mock Reva just after Vader stabs her), Kenobi foreshadows that Reva could survive a similar wound (plus as we see from the flashback in the same episode, Reva herself has already survived a similar wound once)
But of course that just went over people's heads
Instead of the reaching the logical and simple conclusion of "character who appears and dies later in the timeline will survive" people jumped to "zombie!" "clone!" some bulllshit universe breaking resurrection etc
finished watching the obi-wan show, and can someone please tell me where to find my fellow trashy problematic obi-wan fans because I cannot watch that many close-ups of ewan macgregor looking anguished and broken, to say nothing of him being literally dragged screaming through fire, and not want more obi-whump
Obi-Wan literally. Quoted himself. And actually threw out. "I will do what I must."
And then Vader. Literally. Tells Obi-Wan. "Then you will die." When he says. The same exact thing. To Ahsoka. About five years later.
FOLKS.
I AM NOT OKAY.
Watching Reva overcome her need for vengeance and choose mercy had me in tears??? and the way she broke down because she thought sheβd failed the younglings Anakin killed by not choosing revenge and Obi-Wan was there and able to reassure her that she had honoured them instead???? Iβm inconsolable

Love how Anakin and Obi-wan broke up and made it the entire galaxyβs problem
Obsessed with the way vader literally RIPPED that first ship out of the air with the force, and then when the second one took off right behind it he just ??
π I don't watch the show but I am a Star Wars fan....
