         he tucks a tendril of dark hair behind her ear, thumb brushing over her cheekbone in the process. andy was never meant to be in the cards for him. but she had somehow stumbled her way into the deck. she had been reluctant to stay in his hand at first, and he had nearly put her in the discard pile, but now she was here for good. they were fairly attached at the hip - inseparable. and while they were both scared as hell to settle down, neither one willing to admit that they were practically dating, they still continued, dancing around the subject of a relationship.

         all he knew was that he enjoyed her company. and that was enough. he allowed himself to be vulnerable around her, and that was a new concept for bellamy. octavia was the only other person to witness the weakness that andy had gotten glimpses of.

         her words mean more than she realizes. they both weren’t so eloquent when it came to saying how they felt. bellamy could dish out motivational speeches, manipulate people to his desire, but it was hard for him to admit when he cared. he showed it in other ways. andy was worse. so her confession, as vague as it is, hits home with him.

          sometimes he forgets that his girlfriend runs a shop full of dangerous magical weapons. he holds the - thing? cylinder? - very delicately, turns it over in his hands again before gently placing it back on the shelf. he learned his lesson after she yelled at him for trying to take the blade of dark anguish to hang up in his room, because the name was so cool.

          he doesn't remember his dreams. not usually. and maybe that's a blessing in a small way. but he knows when he's had a nightmare. it's easy enough to note - luke knows the feeling panic, knows the way it soaks deep into his bones when he sits up. that feeling settles over him now, and he's clawing at the sheets slightly when he sits up, right at the edge of the bed. there's a name caught in his throat, one that doesn't quite manage to escape.

             ---- what the hell had she done to him? this wasn't bellamy.              he wasn't clingy. he wasn't needy. and if she didn't want              anything to do with him, that was fine. so be it. he just              wished she had the courtesy to tell him so, instead of              cutting off contact completely. he honestly was starting              to think something had happened to her, until octavia              reported she had seen her out and about. perfectly fine.

     detaching himself from the woman, he's in a rush to      pay his tab and stumble into the parking lot. he fumbles      with his car keys, knowing he shouldn't get behind the      wheel, but also not wanting to call octavia to pick him      up. he didn't want her to see him in this state, liquor      pungent on his breath.

     he fumbles with his car keys in his pocket as he debates,      fingertips brushing over his phone instead. he needs      somewhere to direct his agitation, and where better      than the girl who pissed him off in the first place?      closure would help. then he could get over her.

                       it takes him longer than it should to find her name in                        his phone, and to type out a text message, checking                        it at least five times for any typos. he didn't need her                        to know that he was resorting to alcohol.
