"A Skeksis sword from Jeffrey Addiss' and Will Matthews' The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. The Jim Henson-designed creatures were described by concept artist Brian Froud as a mix of reptile, predatory bird, and dragon. The Skeksis used a variety of swords and weapons in their showdown with the Gelfling resistance during the Second Battle of Stone-in-Wood.

This rubber sword features a textured black and gold-color striped handle and a curved silver-color blade with gold-color inlays and two curved cutouts. It exhibits slight cracking and paint chipping. Dimensions: 26.5" x 5" x 2.5" (67.25 cm x 12.75 cm x 6.5 cm)"

Skeksis Sword Prop (A) - Jim Henson Company 70th Anniversary Auction on Julien's Auctions, sold for $5,120 - Lot 105

"An original Skeksis sword prop used in the production of the prequel series The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance (Netflix, 2019).

This large, hand-crafted sword prop is comprised of resin and fiberglass. It features a hilt and handle painted in gold-tone and silver-tone with ornate, carved detailing throughout and a gold-tone, iridescent rope accented around the handle. The handle also contains two holes - including one at the very end of the base - that were used to help secure the prop in the hands of the Skeksis puppet that wielded it in the show. The curved blade of the sword has a metallic appliqué over it to give the appearance of actually being metal. The appliqué features production-detailing including age spotting and battle damage.

The prop sword features wear throughout, consistent with heavy production usage. This wear includes, but is not limited to, paint scuffing and scratch marks, chipping, and appliqué peeling. Other notable wear includes a crack in the lower hilt and a loose ornament on the front of the hilt.

Swords such as this one are seen used by the Skeksis when they face off against the Gelfling in the final episodes of the series during the Second Battle of Stone-in-Wood. They were designed to the same specifications as the similarl-looking swords that appeared in the original film, The Dark Crystal (Universal, 1982).
