The French music publication Kochipan interviewed Lin Di and Jeremy Lasry from Cold Fairyland & Swing Shine (上海香颂). The link above is for the Lin Di interview; read the Jeremy Lasry interview HERE. Topics include how they started working together, how difficult it is to get people in China to pay attention to music once they have become 'apartment slaves'. (that part was quite depressing, actually) Lin Di talks about the long time it took to release The Gossypium Era. There are links and videos in both interviews. =)

Hi headphonegirl11, thank you for getting in touch!Yep, we have posted about Lin Di solo, her band Cold Fairyland, and also her side project, the jazzy Swing Shine If you search "Cold Fairyland" on the main page - F Yeah Chinese Indie, you can see a bunch of cool things: bandcamp audio, live videos, concert photos, promo posters, etc. =DThere is a 2013 Lin Di solo album I've been meaning to feature, quite unlike either of her bands. I'll try to get to that in the near future.

大海La mer (by 笛 林) Lin Di and Swing Shine (上海香颂) just uploaded a couple of songs to her YouTube channel. This is La Mer, with Chinese lyrics (and English translation) sung by Lin Di. La Mer is a very famous old French song, remade in English as Somewhere Beyond The Sea. You can hear those classic versions if you do a quick search on YT. Just in case you want to contrast/compare, heh heh. =)

Listen/purchase: 蔷薇处处开Roses Spread Out Everywhere by Swing Shine Swing Shine Official just added their new compilation, When S Met P (I think that means, 'When Swing Met Pipa'), to their Bandcamp, available for listening and sales. (both digital download and cd) This release is a mix of songs from their 2011 and 2013 digital albums, "...including six old time Chinese pop songs, six old French songs plus two originals. Every song is in Swing Shine's "Chinese-French" mixed style." To tell you the truth, I bought both releases right after I first heard them (see earlier posts), but this might well entice anyone on the fence about Swing Shine! =D They only link 6 songs as being on When S Met P, but their album description implies 14 songs.
