1. Think about some bands you would like to see featured and make a request!
2. Make a mix tape with your favorite C-indies to share with all of us! (message me or tag me @fyeahcindie)
3. Send me a link to something you like on YouTube or SoundCloud, etc.!

Thank you for posting about Misi Ke!! She is really one of my most favorite indie artists and I am so happy she finally has an album out! I really hope I get to see her live one day but alas I'm in the US. Just wondering but do you have any favorite artists, indie or otherwise? and do you only make posts about artists you like? I have so many favorites, lol, too numerous to mention. And I don't limit myself to just posting my personal taste, I try to include things that aren't my cup of tea, because it's better for the blog as a whole to be inclusive.
(Just looking at the activity data tells me that lots of people are interested in some of the bands/styles I don't really care for.)
Another thing that affects posting is how easy the artist makes it to get the word out. Things like: how clear to a non-Chinese speaker the promo is; how available the content is (YouTube is easier than a mainland China site, SoundCloud & Bandcamp are easy to embed than other formats).
Also, I try to stay on top of the obvious big events, like a festival or album release.
If you really want to hear a sample of things I love, definitely check out the music player on the main FYCI page; most of those songs and bands are part of my personal listening. =D

Can you give me some recommendations? I never listened to Chinese modern music, or basically non-erhu music. I recently began brushing up on my chinese. Can you recommend some bands? I love indie, alt, and world. What bands/songs are catchy/popular indie/your favorite? Xiè Xiè!
Hi there, 2noteselfie! =D The FYCI main page has a 46 song music player with a wide variety of indie styles: pop, folk-pop, rock, alternative, punk, reggae, electronica, singer-songwriter, post rock/instrumental, jazz-pop, etc.
It's a great starting point, because almost every band on there is something that I would recommend if you wanted me to be specific about suggesting certain bands. However, it is short on male vocal artists, so if that is your preference, you might like Mary See The Future, Matzka, Dadado Huang Jie, Echo band, Mayday, Hom Shenhao, Suming.
For a 'world music' rec, check out the Shanghai based international band SoundScape, with Tibetan Sina Lamu (斯那拉姆) on vocal.

Hi there, I just wanted to let you know that I've added a bunch of songs to the SCM player, you can see/hear that on the main FYCI page. Total of 34 46 tunes, automatic shuffle play. (You can also select by song) Trying to have the player keep up with our expanding coverage. I think there's a 50 song limit to the SCM player, correct?
