Places to try: Swimming | Olympic Park x SwimDemCrew
I'm not much of a swimmer, more like a beginner who can only do breast and back stroke. The last time I even swam was in Barcelona back in July 2014 so it was nice to get back in the pool.Â
Ok I just told a blatant lie, it was nice to watch my friends in the pool swimming, I just swim on holidays (that's my story & I'm sticking to it)...
Within walking distance from Stratford Station and known as 'London Aquatics Centre' (Olympic Park) is designed for swimmers of all abilities (beginners like myself or pro's like Michael Phelps). LAC offers fun family sessions, lane swimming, diving and general swimming lessons. I'm a massive fan of architecture and LAC surely ticks all the boxes. It has a wave - like roof, jaw dropping back drop and a seating capacity of 2,500.Â
Even though I spent my time in The Competition Pool right across is The Training Pool which is better for beginners like myself as its a 50 metre stretch and is also ideal for families. Seen, as I will be returning here with my God Daughters I will try out The Training pool for sure.Â
If you're not up for a swim you can use their gym or just grab a coffee at their on site cafe.
I joined @swimdemcrew, which is run by Nathaniel Cole, Peigh Asante and Danny Wood for a session, you can join them too. They regularly meet up at LAC and tour other pools across London every week. Follow their Twitter or Instagram page for more info. I guarantee you won't be disappointed as it's purely good vibes.
