How many languages can you speak? Which ones? spanish and english, i can understand tagalog, and i’m learning japanese rn with italian and french on the list to learn next

Do you play any sports? i used to play basketball and soccer!! i consider acting a sport along with an art since it’s so physically demanding, so that’s what i do now.

Ben couldn’t help the snort that escaped him before he had a chance to stop it. He glanced over to where Finn was stuffing his face with chocolate chip cookies and even though crumbs were flying everywhere, Ben didn’t even care. Instead, there was just a warmth that settled in his chest.

Ever since they’d had that conversation a little while ago, things had been going even better than usual. While they’d been just about as close as two friends could be beforehand as well, now that the sometimes-appearing elephant was out of the room, there was nothing putting distance between them anymore. And it was great. They still hadn’t labeled themselves but that was okay -- they were usually on the same page anyway, even without words.

What Finn had just said served as a piece of perfect proof that things were so much better now. Sure, he was always a little impulsive with his wording but Ben knew for a fact that he wouldn’t have said something like this a few months ago. Which was Ben’s own fault, since he had been the one creating these more or less unspoken boundaries. But clearly, they were gone now and he couldn’t have been happier about it. So for a second, he just stood and watched yet another half of a cookie disappear. He had gone out grocery shopping earlier since they’d been out of a few things and had brought back a package of some of Finn’s favorite cookies -- something that appeared to be a bigger deal than he had expected, judging from his expression.

“I had no idea cookies get you going like this, geez,” he muttered, though a smile was spreading on his face anyway as he unpacked the last of their food and shut the fridge. Turning around, Ben took the few steps towards Finn, then paused to bring a hand up. “Just gonna...”, he added, flicking some leftover crumbs off Finn’s face. As much as he liked Finn, he did not need to eat off his face. Once he was sure he’d done the best possible job cleaning up a bit, he leaned in to connect their lips in a short but sweet kiss. A kind of casual intimacy that he was more than ecited to welcome back into their lives.

Stepping back, Ben gathered the plastic bags and put them away, but not before hes topped to give Finn another look. “Next time, I’m bringing chocolate cake.”

[ SMS ; FINN ] I swear to god you text the weirdest things.[ SMS ; FINN ] What are you even doing? All I hear is a lot of noise from the kitchen. I swear to god if I come in there and all the cupboards are open again...[ SMS ; FINN ] Also bring me some lemonade, please? I’ll give you friend points!

[ SMS ; FINN ] I mean, it’s a pretty snazzy reflection.[ SMS ; FINN ] Am I right?![ SMS ; FINN ] I’m a predator drunk, you know that! Better the reflection than a random person. “Nope. Not at all.” The bite that the words were laced with were obvious but Ben couldn’t really be bothered to try and conceal them. While he was good at masking most emotions with a smile and ironic comment, jealousy was the one thing he’d always been bad at hiding. It was also one emotion he’d always felt pretty strongly so one would think he’d have experience with handling it by now. It appeared not.

They’d had some girl over for hours. Some up and coming Youtuber that Finn was apparently all over and whom collaborations were to be made with. Since Ben didn’t even know her himself, he had (somewhat) politely declined one for himself but had agreed on one on the gaming channel. Which, in hindsight, had been not that great of an idea. All things considered, that video would likely never see the light of day. Ben was always someone who could get a little bold and loud in videos but it always worked well with Finn. Their dynamic was practiced, they knew what worked for them and what was and wasn’t funny. Ben knew how much fun he could poke at him and still consider it friendly banter that they both enjoyed.

However, that dynamic didn’t involve a third person. And certainly not someone who seemed to go for a record in trying to compliment Finn. Not that he didn’t deserve it, obviously, but it was just unnecessary in this situation. Finn didn’t need someone kissing his ass and reassuring him of his awesomeness every time Ben yelled about a lost round. So Ben had, admittedly, gotten annoyed and it showed. He’d switched between being unusually quiet and directing his yelling mostly at the third wheel but he knew by the end of the video that there was no way people wouldn’t pick up on the tension if they released it.

So, once that was done with, he’d excused himself. To the living room, not his bedroom. Because this was their place and he could chill on the couch if he wanted to. The noises of the girl finally packing up and leaving had him exhaling a sigh of relief but he didn’t bother doing much more. Silence, thank god. If he had to hear her and Finn laugh over something dumb together one more time, he’d have thrown himself out a window. Or something.

But now Finn was standing in front of him and Ben was trying to keep a straight face, to not let his annoyance (at what exactly, he wasn’t sure) show. “I’m cool. It’s all cool. Y’know, if you wanna go hang out with your new BFF for a while that’s cool, too. I’m entertained.” As if to make his point, Ben settled further into his sofa crease, hoisting the laptop up closer to his face and refusing to move his gaze from it.

Smooth. So smooth.

Gentle touch traces over synthetic hair on it’s stand, and thoughts of confusion and void capture the mind. Yitzhak - when he’s dressed in dragged, does she still address him as Yitzhak? or does she say Krystal? They’re very similar questions to what she’s thinking now about herself - has been speaking, and she’s been tuning him out ever since the end of the show. 

She doesn’t know how to answer him, because how can he say that when she’s also given him everything he needs back. She even tore apart herself to give it back to him, but there he is. Ever loyal and ever loving. Their eyes meet in the mirror, and Hedwig wonders if her husband can finally read her. Maybe he’s just as lost as she is.

But then he says his last piece ‘I can’t stand to lose anything else.’ like he’d gained her from the very beginning. Maybe he had and she had no idea, and this is another form of love she never truly understood. A concept of power that is shared and used with compassion and loyalty.

“I don’t think you can lose something when that something doesn’t know who or what they truly are, darling.” 

Even then, without the wig on, saying the little pet name feels strange on her tongue. Her vision focuses to herself in the mirror, and she’s too far into her young life to try to build and wonder who she is again. But it is different now. Hansel and Hedwig have formed one heart, soul, and brain, so it should be much easier.

And there’s Yitzhak who is willing to go in that direction with her.

Blue eyes downcast as she ponders this, but even then, Hedwig can’t truly give him an answer. Not an honest one, or even a witty or insulting one. 

[ SMS ; FINN ] The real question is why wasn’t there one earlier?[ SMS ; FINN ] The radio let me take it and I’m not leaving a live sized Harry Styles behind. Finally I can act out all my deep dark fantasies.[ SMS ; FINN ] Unfortunately, it ruins the aesthetics of my room.
