Star Wars Fics That CHanged My Life
So, first of all, Iâm leaving off many, many fics but I wanted to send some #SWficRecLove to some of the most important to me fics. Check out the below for 8 of my most important, most loved fics So, here they are! 1. We Are All Made of Stars. https://www.fanfiction.net/s/1272178/1/We-Are-All-Made-of-Stars you may be like, MERCY, why are you SHARING a⊠2003-written, first-person POV fic that honestly probably doesnât stand the test of time? Well. I still remember reading this fic when i was TINY and it was the fic that made me promise that someday I would be the one writing multi chapter star wars fics. Over a decade later, Iâve honored that promise to tiny-me, and so, I share the fic that made me want to be a fic writer. 2. Meeting Like This (rated M) https://archiveofourown.org/works/595493/chapters/1072854
the Boba/Leia fic that began it all for me, in more ways than one. I re-read the whole thing this summer when I had a real bad set of anxiety attacks, and fell back in love with that whole galaxy (and ship). Then, I wrote some SW set fics and found myself so welcomed by @theloneliestshipper, which encouraged me so much! Their skill at making Boba so well-rounded, and giving Leia so much agency, is really incredible, and this is the fic that I think, defines, being a Boba/Leia shipper for me. 3. Entirely Useless https://archiveofourown.org/works/17447393 So, I really, really admire and look up to @sassysnowperson who is so talented at writing so many rarepairs, and doing so with so much heart, accuracy, and detail. Although I could rec any of them, I (admittedly selfishly XD) picked the glorious Cassleia! Sassyâs talent at showing a story in one perfect, crystalline scene is breathtaking. Literally âan eternity in an hourâ to steal from a poet. 4. At Last https://archiveofourown.org/works/16758652 So, uh, fun fact @semisweetshadow I ⊠actually read this before I met you? (to the tune of the Backstreet Boys song, obvi) and itâs what make me become a Bodhi/Luke shipper? You write them with so much love and so much respect for all theyâve been through. Your Luke is one of my most favorite Lukes> 5. Cardinal https://archiveofourown.org/works/16932327/chapters/39784539 So, @cassianandorjyn is one of the best Cassian writers around, and someone I can always trust to write an AMAZING one, with him SO in character and SO heartfelt and just SO GOOD. I picked Cardinal, though, because I really think this is where their writing shines. Itâs a character study and itâs so much more. Its the best type of fic, one that will lead you to re-watch the canon content with new understanding. Incredible. Absolutely incredible. 6.No One Was Saved
https://archiveofourown.org/works/15416547 THIS FIC. Wow. Speaking of incredible Cassianâs, @bright-elen is my other go-to. Thereâs so much pain, so much hurt in this Cassian, and yet, the story still has that beautiful tiny bit of hope, that knowledge that Cassian is a broken man, but heâs a man with good in him yet. I adore it, and I think it speaks to this ficâs power that ⊠itâs been recommended by MULTIPLE different shippers 7. a table at the wedding https://archiveofourown.org/works/16238123 Lest I only recommend ANGST in my fics, I did want to also recommend a really sweet fluff on. @imsfire2 is very much one of the go to Jyn/Cassian writers I have, but what I love most about this fic is how SWEET and WARM and in character EVERYONE one is. Itâs just full of joy, like a wedding should be. 8.Loose bandaged tourniquets https://archiveofourown.org/works/10761135/chapters/23863761 So, @dasakuryo is a new-to-me writer, which is ,,, kinda great because they have SO MANY amazing, beautiful fics. Their Cassian/Jyn is the brutal, beautiful ship I fell for as I saw it in the movie, and the amount of detail, description, and lush prose just absolutely make me swoon. So, highly recommend. One of the reasons this fic felt important for me to recommend is the author doesnât shy away from moral complexity or from the dangers and darkness that our beloved Rogue One characters have to deal with in their world (and that exists in ours, too)
