Welp, we’ve been to the Southwest US, Fest 14 in Florida, Puerto Rico, New Jersey, New York and Mexico over the last month! It’s been a wild ride, thank you guys for coming out, listening online, buying shit, throwing shit, and hangin pretty tough. Next we have the Felony Records Holiday Party December 12th with buds Pour Habit, Eken is Dead, Skipjack, Kill Corporations and Emmer Effer. Holy hell that’s a lineup, bring on the ‘nog! We have some fun stuff in the works for next year, so we’ll be laying that out as soon as we can. 

In the meantime, let’s try to get the rest of the world to chill out, have a drink, and be fucking good to each other again please.

Here’s a crappy video we threw together, mostly just pictures of us drinking with our friends.

So much has been going on lately it’s hard to keep up! So I’ll try to itemize most of it all here.

The latest song in the streaming series just released today. ‘War is the Answer’ is streaming over at For the Love of Punk, with all donations going to the nonprofit Art & Creativity for Healing. Their mission is to support emotional healing through art & creative expression for those living with abuse, critical illness, military service, homelessness and grief.

Maps is sort of a tip of the cap to a lot of the music that influenced us up to this point. The lyrics are comprised of references to records and songs that we grew up and are growing old listening to, but the song itself still has an underlying progression. I think ultimately it just illustrates the power of music in general to be anything at all to any different person; to be whatever that person needs it to be, and this is why it's so important to us in our scene and to society as a whole.

This week's charity is the Tony Sly Music Foundation. TSMF raises  to support children's music education through various projects, all in memory of the late Tony Sly from No Use For a Name.Tony and NUFAN meant a whole lot to Sic Waiting, and we were lucky enough to play some of the last US shows with them and get to know Tony a bit. His loss shook our whole community to the core. We've worked with TSMF on a couple projects over the last couple years, and it seemed only natural to involve them in this record, and specifically this song. NEW NOISE MAGAZINE GIVES YOU SIC WAITING’S ‘ACTIVE ALUMNI’

For the next few weeks you'll get to stream a new song per week from Derailer-that's normal promo for a release. This time though, you're going to be able to purchase it, weeks before the record is available to anyone, anywhere, with all the proceeds going to various nonprofits we support and have had ties to. You'll only be able to get each song for a short time, so get on it! This week, all the proceeds from the New Noise Magazine Limited Early Release of 'Active Alumni' will go to the nonprofit organization To Write Love On Her Arms. TWLOHA is an organization dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury, and suicide. Over the years, a number of people around Sic Waiting have dealt with these issues. They're dark, dangerous issues that require real treatment. No amount of help is too small, so thank you New Noise for hosting the stream and guys for doing something good today!
