The recent drought experienced in South Africa didn’t just happen in the major cities but was widespread around the Western Cape’s rural interior seen here near Oudtshoorn

The faces and smiles says it all a the finish line of the @ecobound_adventures #tohellandback #mtb Challenge. This, despite the fact that competitors had to cope with approximately 30 Degrees of temperature variation as they cranked SA's longest gravel pass into #DieHel (and back again) ☀ ❄ On the gruelling ride into Gamkaskloof, temperatures simmered around the mid-thirties, and on the return ride it was 5 Degrees Celsius at Die Top, the zenith of this 2-day, 2-way #mountainbike Stage Race. The predicted massive downpour for the #swartberg mountains never materialized , but hopefully the wet weather on the Oudtshoorn side may still move across ... let's hold thumbs.
