Battlefront II is currently on sale for the PS4 for like $4 so I bought it last night and have been playing it between coughing fits and I gotta say, the flight mechanics for the space battles are EXACTLY what I have been looking for re: a good Star Wars flight sim.
(granted i haven't been like. Actively searching or anything. But that was always my one disappointment with the LEGO games, and that one 3DS game I had ages ago that I no longer remember the name of.)
Anyways, BfII! It's VERY reminiscent of that bit in Ender's Game where he's like "up and down are an illusion. Pick a random landmark. That's up now. Have fun." I may be paraphrasing its been a few years since i read it.
This is the most non-intuitive flight sim I've ever tried (and I've tried quite a few, since working at an airport for almost 2 years means you end up working with a lot of flight sim geeks) and it's AWESOME. This is exactly what a dogfight in space SHOULD be. Sometimes you blow up an enemy ship and abruptly realize that you are upside down and underneath one of your own command ships!
I am not very good at Battlefront II but I am having fun and at this point, it's less playing the game and more exploring the mechanics of the universe and filing those experiences away for future fic writing purposes lmao

I just had a match of BF2 where I, as Kenobi, made friends with the enemy Boba, Palps, and Dooku. We kept jumping around and stacking the characters on top of each other like jenga. My Luke also joined in on the fun!
It was to bad their Kylo and our Rey + Lando were being mean. :l
I was looking at the story for the new Star Wars Battlefront 2 and:
“ The story will span thirty years, beginning in the waning months of the Galactic Civil War and concluding around the destruction of Starkiller Base.[7] “
Now i am excited! the story!! is going to be BIG. well, hopefully at least.
