The TB vampires are out of the coffin but the Cold Ones (Twilight vampires) remain secret to humans. In fact most TB vampires don’t believe they exist; they’re boogeymen. Te Cold Ones are waaaaaay stronger, the sun, stakes, and silver don’t hurt them; they never sleep, some of them have crazy extra powers, and they don’t need invitations to enter human homes. Their venom causes excruciating pain for vampires. Between the frenzying and the fact that synthetic blood does nothing for them, the AVL knows they are not good optics.

Sookie hears rumors about these Cold Ones every so often and she’s NOT eager to meet any. Vampires are afraid of them, even if they’re loathe to admit it. No thank you. Luckily it sounds like they’re incredibly rare.
