the scene where sookie weeps while eating gran's pie is such a moving depiction of grief. the ache of wanting to savor the memory, of wanting to catch and cling to the last glimmers of their life, all the while knowing that this is all you get. you lick the fork clean, you turn over every recollection, you squeeze out as much as you can because this is it. they're gone. you feel it so deeply in those first days, when they linger, the dust not quite settled
Watching people watch True Blood for the first time is so satisfying. Like “hello, welcome to a rollercoaster of emotions and bizarre sex shenanigans”. My favourite TV show which is also intensely problematic. I despise season X’s plotline but still, you should totally watch it. Definitely read the books but also? Super problematic and the last book just doesn’t make any sense. It’s literally word salad. But do I own every book in print, ebook and audiobook? Absofuckinglutely. Are some of my books signed? Yes.
And I’m a Sookie/Eric shipper (+ Sookie/Alcide in the show) all the way. I think the deus ex machina that separated them was silly.
