We’ve been melting away as avid fans to SVFARI’s music for nearly half a year, but this week brought us a twist we could not have predicted despite our zeal for the emerging R&B pop singer songwriter’s music. Turns out, SVFARI and English pop sensation Elyar (aka Elyar Fox) are one and the same. Elyar has now released his debut solo EP to the elation of his droves of fans, and it’s entitled, what else, but SVFARI. The EP includes all three SVFARI songs we’ve eagerly shared previously, plus this sweet molten, luxuriously heartrending ballad, The Birds. My own heart feels like a fluttering bird, ready to fly out of my chest as Elyar serenades us with his buttery chiffon voice, skating effortlessly over a bed of Balearic chiming, future rippling production akin to those of Mura Masa and Jamie xx. R&B singer songwriter SVFARI resurfaces from London and re-unites with UK producer Atlas on a tender stirring piece named For Something You Love. The fleecy melting beauty is a taste from SVFARI’s debut EP, due out later this year. It’s midnight magic as SVFARI’s vocoder treated vocals hover tentatively in the air, guiding us through Atlas’ lush celestial soundscape. This imaginative aerial lullaby is sure to take you to a land of enchantment, at times in a similar fashion to some of Francis and the Light’s music, but more plush and cottony.

Emerging UK R&B artist SVFARI is back with his second song to date, confirming our suspicions after he made his debut last month with Beautiful Human that this newcomer might be the cream of the crop when it comes to all the pervasive urban pop we’ve been flooded with these days. Switch Your Love is glossy evocative and silky intoxicating. SVFARI’s sheer silky crooning hovers over an extravagant bed of weightless buoyant, crisp pulsing electronica, courtesy of producer ATLAS. SVFARI explains that he wrote the song after finding out that someone he had just broken up with had moved on immediately and seemed to be happy. “I couldn’t help but feel like if it was so easy to find somebody new so soon, she could probably switch back to me just as easily. I started questioning whether our time together meant anything at all.” The song will be on SVFARI’s forthcoming debut EP.
