If I Deadly Visit my own Blood Operative, can i get the Operative back with the Visit's surveil?
Yes.
Blood Operative is in the graveyard when you Surveil, so its ability will trigger.
In fact, Blood Operative’s ability will still trigger if you put it into your graveyard while surveiling from that very same surveil! Wow!
I love Lazav and all the shapeshifters but I feel like the ability should be something more like "X: Exile Lazav, then return him to the battlefield as a copy of target creature...(etc.)" This would help with the milling/scry effect that the Dimir are going for in this set, and allow you to put more creatures in your graveyard to give him more options to copy.
Hello Judge! I'm resolving Grim Flayer's triggered ability. My choice is put Nexus of Fate into Graveyard and rest on top of my library. Question is, when do I shuffle Nexus of Fate into library, and whether can I keep arranged top three cards of library or not? Thanks!
When you’re resolving Grim Flayer’s (not actually) surveil 3 trigger, move cards to the graveyard and arranging them on top of your library all happens simultaneously. Nexus of Fate replaces going to your graveyard with being revealed and then shuffled into your library, so it modifies its part of this still singular event. What this all means is that you’ll shuffle Nexus into your library if you dump it to the graveyard but any cards you choose to put on top will stay on top of that otherwise shuffled library.
