The only additional fees that I’m aware of would be the £200 consultation fee, plus potentially the cost of any meals you or anyone accompanying you has whilst in hospital. The £6425 fee quoted includes both Mr Yelland’s fee and the hospital fees.

I’m not sure whether you want to know what Mr Yelland charges the NHS for patients, or what the cost to you would be to go to him via the NHS?

- He charges £6,425 privately, which I believe includes consultations, surgery itself, and post-op appointments.

- I’m not sure what he charges the NHS for NHS-funded patients, but the cost to you is precisely nothing (aside from travel expenses and other sundries).

The main trans related surgeries are free on the NHS.  This includes top (chest) surgery, hysterectomy, and lower (genital) surgery.  All stages of lower surgery is included as this is normally done in several stages, as are any revisions which might be needed after chest or lower surgery, as there’s always the risk that things don’t go perfectly the first time.

All you would need to pay for is travel to the surgeon if you don’t qualify for help by being on benefits or have a low income, and a hotel if need be for someone accompanying you as you’ll be in hospital at least one night for top surgery, and several nights for lower.  There may also be small things such as post-op binders, or scar treatment, but these aren’t overly expensive at all.
