Aydyn came to Solen after saving the king of Solen , Tyr during the battle of Drakken as just a boy. Injured but victorious, the boy Aydyn was brought to Solen cared for and given the title of champion. At first the guards ( and the generals son Arthus) were angry about a boy being named champion of Solen until they witnessed his skill and immense strength. With no recollection of his past Aydyn was forced to create a future finding a home, family, and a love he could not fathom.
As he grew so did his love for the princess. Though he was favored he assumed he would never be able to take the hand of the princess and resigned himself to that fact. One evening while out with his guard they visited a tavern where he met Val-Eryn. After a 'few' pints and a long in depth conversation Val found herself wrapped in the arms of the man she dubbed 'Sir Knight' Aydyn having loved the tease dubbed Val-Eryn 'Fair Maiden'. Though the night was more than either had expected they parted ways Aydyn having woken to an empty bed.
Not more than a year later the king asked Aydyn to take the hand of his daughter, princess Ayla. Aydyn thrilled accepted and the two who had pined for one another from afar for years were to be married.
Val-Eryn , just a few whirlwind months after her encounter with her 'Sir Knight' found herself with child. Thrilled and terrified at the prospect of motherhood, a normal life, and having been quite taken by the charming knight decided that after one last planned mission she would head to Solen to announce her pregnancy to the knight Aydyn.
Ganneth the guild leader, caught wind from the guild physician that his best thief was about to be of no use to him and decided to do something about it. He sent along a skilled healer and paid another guilds leader to send their most skilled assassin.
Val-Eryn met the Orc assassin posing as a guard and after a terrible scuffle was left for dead. Ven found her a wound cutting her from her almost through to her spine and across nearly cutting her in half. The healer saved her life fixing almost her all over to near perfection save for the scar and damage to her womb. The damage was done. The child was lost and so was her ability to carry another. When she finally woke she told her brother why she wanted to go to Solen after their last mission. Val gave up the notion of finding her knight and began to train once more unaware of the guilds betrayal.
Aydyn, continued his reign as champion of Solen. His love and relationship with Ayla growing stronger. His strength unusual, his skill even more so. He became a symbol, the people of Solen excited that some day he would help rule with the princess.
