I've seen the 'buy from an independent and they do a happy dance' message a lot recently & as very true as it is.. Buying from an independent business means a lot more. I think it's easy to assume that because a shop is open that business must be thriving (I know I've presumed before with other shops on the high street). What isn't shown are the overheads, rent, bills & extra costs that all go into a business. Every penny helps the shop & keeps the doors open.
