@dccwrarepairswap gift for @nixie-deangle . The prompt was Mick/Kara, Mick gets custody of a child he didn’t know he had, and meets their second grade teacher, Kara. Fun fact: This was one of the first prompts I knew I wanted to do. It was originally actually going to be a fic. The second I said I’d do it, my brain refused. Every time I sat down to write, I had NOTHING. Nada. Not a thing. So instead, you get a couple of moodboards! I hope you enjoy them!!! ---- One thing Mick Rory never wanted to be was a father. His own was a monster, and deep down, he always felt he’s be like him. That was before Lenny started dating that reporter. Before she discovered a daughter he’d never known about. The girl was in foster care, after the death of her mother. (A woman Mick didn’t remember, not by face or by name, and there was a time when that wouldn’t have bothered him. Funny how things change.) He never wanted to be a father, but he sure wasn’t going to abandon his child, so he left the Waverider, and with a little help from Haircut, he was legally his daughter’s father. She begged him to come meet her teacher. “Skirt?” He didn’t dare call her that, not after the first meeting. Barry tried to explain it, but it left him with a headache worse than time travel ever did. Other realities, Barry had said. Other Earths. Whatever. She wasn’t the one who had fought alongside him, taking down Dominators left and right, but she was the one his daughter loved dearly, the one who took care of her as much as she could. Overheat or Superheat?

Just had to go for the jugular, didn’t you =P

I really love both of these ships but I’m gonna have to go with Superheat/Superwave, cause I just really think they’d be super cute together. She really needs a good man to show her how relationships are supposed to be, and since the CW won’t pair her up with James, I think Mick would be great for her. And Mick needs someone to be on his side and to treat him with kindness and patience, and I think Kara could really do that well.

(plus Kara is almost a walking definition of one of Mick’s kinks, He sure do love his women strong. XD)

who is the grumpiest in the morning: Mick, to the general surprise of no one on the planet.

who worries more when the other is sick/hurt: People see more of Kara worrying about Mick, but on the rare occasions when Kara ACTUALLY gets hurt? Like when Kryptonite comes into play? The world will burn, if it has to, to keep her safe.

who plays pranks on the other: Kara initiates it, for sure. Nothing mean-spirited, and she’s very careful not to do anything that could actually hurt him. Generally, it’s just things like scattering twenty plastic chickens around his bedroom, and waiting for him to find them.

who is always the first to suggest cuddling on the sofa: Kara, definitely. She pouts until he caves, or simply flops down beside him, cuddling up.

who insists on creating nicknames for the other: Mick did this about five minutes after meeting her, right? But Kara does call him Micky Mouse sometimes, especially after meeting Axel. Literally nobody believes that he doesn’t even complain, but as Mick points out, “What am I gonna do?”

who drools on the other when they’re asleep: Kara, and Mick teases her relentlessly about it.

who says ‘I love you’ first: Kara. Mick shakes his head. “No, ya don’t. Just think you do.” He can’t believe that this is going to last, because he’s used to getting hurt. She starts casually slipping it into daily conversation, until he finally accepts it. “Love ya,” he mutters gruffly one day, and the glow on her face rivals any fire he’s ever seen.
